She turned from her trip back to the bar, smiling sweetly at him. “Marcus,” she said, though it was more a question of what he wanted just then. He merely smirked and nodded his head back towards Lily and Corianna behind him. She looked past him and nodded, changing her direction and headed over that way. “Lily,” she said with a friendly smile once she was close. “And Lily’s friend,” she went on looking at Corianna with a smile that was not just a fake customer service smile, but something rather genuine. Upon entering the club, Lily was bombarded by the scene inside. Electric lights of greens, blues, and pinks carved through the nightclub. They strobed from one side to the other, dispersed by the hazy smoke, skimming across the masses below. All gathered for a sinfully good time. Sweaty bodies of various patrons heightened the club’s temper as they bounced to the music. It vibrated throughout the walls, drowning everyone in the beat until it took control. Lily Quarin thrived in this type of atmosphere. If it wasn’t for the fact she had been in it already and gotten her fix, she wouldn’t have been able to contain her excitement. God, how much she missed it. A mixture of her vanity and fear had long ago ruined the experience for her until now. A giddiness spread through her veins, igniting her nerves into life. It spread like a building need, waiting for her to release it. Motivated by her own enthusiasm, the energy erupted from her movements. Her legs carried her toward the stage as one of the band members held out his hand. Upon helping her onto the stage, he passed her the microphone. “Nice to have you back, the crowd’s getting restless.” Lily chuckled, then answered. “I can tell, so let’s relieve them of that. Shall we?” The man nodded his head. He stepped back as his hand jerked at the DJ, cueing at the man to turn things up. Lone Digger by Caravan Palace began to play through the speakers. Excitement built into her core before it spread to her throat. Soon, everyone was lost in the words she sang. Subtly, her right foot tapped alongside the rhythm to nudge her into motions unused in years. While she continued to sing, her eyes caught someone small and lithe, a girl, darted through the crowds below. Unable to cease her performance, Lily hoped another staff member might have noticed it.
