Ever on the move, they never bothered to settle in one location long enough to grow roots. That is until they happened upon the Tulleys. The Tulleys presented them with two options: Option one was to try and take from them the land they'd already claimed. Option two, and by far the more favorable, was to strike a deal where the Brynwulfs would use their expertise and skills as huntsman to provide their people with food and the Tulleys would give them a place to call home. The Brynwulfs chose option one. Over the course of several days of fighting, the initially overpowering force of the invaders was eventually exhausted when in direct opposition of the patience of the Tulleys and that of a second family that had already taken up residence with them: The Faidwells. Using their prowess over botany and their many apothecaries, they kept the Tulleys in the fight long enough to keep the Brynwulfs at bay and eventually over take them. Defeated, the Brynwulfs were given a second chance to choose and this time they chose correctly. Since then, the Brynwulfs have held a deep resentment for the Faidwells citing them as the sole reason they were defeated. To add more heat to the flame, the two families have very different outlooks for the future of the Kingdom of Alastar. While the Brynwulfs believe in conquering the nearby settlements and aggressively folding them into their own, the Faidwells think otherwise. As such, there has been an abundance of back and forth between the two houses, even more so when there are other houses involved. As of late, their bickering has been prone to violence and the Tulley's have decided to intervene.
[sub]E D W I N ' S H I S T O R Y:[/sub]
Born to James and Jocelyn Brynwulf. Eldest of their family and first of four children. Edwin was groomed at a very young age to eventually take over as head of the Brynwulf family estate. He's taken to his future rather well. Being his father's son, he shares many of his defining traits. He can at times be arrogant, brash and headstrong. He often times gets himself in over his head and when he does, he seldom seeks help to get himself out. He'll take the harder option just to prove a point... something his family is notorious for. On the other hand, these traits bleed into his loyalty. He has a strong passion for the politics of the city, the good of the people and the defense of those people. He takes his job, and future job, very seriously and intends to do them right no matter what. As such, over the years, he's dedicated himself to improving the man he would need to be. Hunting was easiest for him. He is a natural with a sword as it is with his entire family. A natural shot. A natural hunter and tracker. He's already taken to his family's keep the annual Alastar's Huntsman trophy the last consecutive seven years and is currently eyeing the crown for the upcoming Tulley Tournament. In between hunts was an apprenticeship into the family business to understand the process of making and selling of armaments and the training of the king's soldiers as well as their own. "The Steel Wulf" reads the sign hanging outside their weapons and armor depot. Being the charismatic and silver tongued devil he's been known to be, the role of the businessman slipped on rather easily as well. He's closed the deals on some of the families most profitable ventures yet. Lastly, and most definitely the hardest for him, was his schooling. He graduated... almost didn't. On the day of his 25th year of birth, Edwin was given the great news that he would be wed... to a Faidwell.
