It wasn't a smell she'd soon forget. She wondered if Oli would want to come back later in their four-legged forms and check out the scene later. Curiosity was very much a thing for Taylor, but she also liked to stay safe. Oli and her cousin both were the ones to drag her along places when she knew better than to go, but like a disease, the excitement would catch her in the moment and she'd be off getting into trouble with her two partners in crime. Well, fur-partners-in-crime. P.I.C. was reserved for Finley, of course. As Joey turned to run back to Oli's car, she nodded and smiled softly at him as he went. She herded Sadie towards Joey's car, the poor dog searching the parking lot for Taylor's jeep, obviously having forgotten they came in his car. Taylor shook her head and opened up the passenger side door, letting Sadie jump in the back of the car before sliding into her seat, herself. She looked out at the lake, watching it glisten in the sunlight. Maybe they could come back another day and go swimming. It'd been some time since Taylor had gone swimming at the lake, let alone in a swimming pool. Well, since High School, anyway. The swim team didn't count, though. She wanted to go swimming for fun, hang out with friends and have a good day. It'd been such a long time, it was almost like a memory. This was the first time in a while Taylor had even gotten to go out with her friends, and suddenly Taylor found herself grateful for the day. Thankful that she had the day off when everyone decided to be Mystery Inc. again. In Taylor's lost thoughts, she barely heard her name being spoken and looked over towards Oli and Joey. Oli was smiling Taylor's way, and she could only imagine what Oli was saying about her. Taylor gave a half-hearted smile, figuring it was most likely just Olivia teasing Joey and her about..whatever they were. Taylor turned back to the back seat where Sadie impatiently paced back and forth in the back seat, wanting a window down. She shook her head and cracked her door open so some fresh air would creep into the car. Sadie immediately calmed down and sat with her nose pushed through, right up against the cracked open door. Taylor reached back and gently scratched Sadie's head and ears, settling back down in her seat comfortably looking out the window towards Oli and Joey. His vision, his memory. What happened?.. Wherever he was, it was bright as fuck. Almost blinding. Declan blinked hard and slowly attempted to push himself up from the gravel floor, taking in heavy breaths as he looked around him and saw he was outside. Outside of the mine's entrance. But how? Hadn't he just been inside? Going after.. GWEN! Declan shot up like a bullet and started to run back inside till he ran straight into Finley and fell over right on his ass with a hard grunt, now facing both the girls. His face turned bright red as he realized what had happened, now. He felt terrible, but he was glad Gwen and Finley both were equally okay. Well, Gwen a little worse for wear, but she was alive and kickin'. Declan lowered his head, almost in a submissive "I'm sorry" kind of way. Had he been in his other form, his tail would have been tucked tightly between his legs and he'd be trying to lick an apology out of the girls. All he could manage in this form was an apologetic half-smile. He looked from Finley to Gwen, checking them both over to be absolutely sure they were okay. Declan went to dust off his hands on his pants and noticed the harsh burns on them, quickly clenching his fists in attempts to hide them, knowing well that they'd already seen them, but in a sense, it was kind of embarrassing. At least to him, it was. He met both of their eyes, then. A scared dog with his tail tucked and vulnerable eyes watching his two friends, wondering if they knew. The silence between him and them probably wouldn't help his case, but he didn't know what to say at this point. He didn't want to lie, but he didn't want to tell the truth. Declan swallowed hard, sitting there before the two girls with his arms extended back behind him to support him as he leaned back, the palms of his hands pushed firmly into the ground.
