[@Lovejoy] Well I figured the "warm" season was warm ONLY by comparison.  Given that normal for them is probably freezing or below, they'd notice the difference more than we would if we visited.  Also I was figuring that was the growing season.  And there's probably some sort of storm-related festival on the equinoxes...equinices?  whateverrrrr.
