you not missed loads, its mostly a party and people have moved to the main city hall. 
you can easily pop in and out. the time line has moved forward a hour or two in a mini skip so just say you spent time eating or somthing.

general asumed others are at party. 

honestly, its a easy time as any to join in, din;t worry so much, just slot in and get rolling.
