Her parents have both retired to the city after serving the town for many years. Waconia's residence is above the bar in a small two bedroom living space. Her spare bedroom is rented out nightly for free as some place for people who have drunk a little too much and can't make the walk home. Recently there has been a influx of squirrels in the bar because of patron's peanut shells being scattered all over the place. The pesky vermin tend to steal items from the patrons as well as from Waconia's small kitchen.
S T O R Y
The Wheatley family had been in Valbree Village for as long as anyone could remember. Mr. Wheatley's late father had established a small bar in the midst of the town for people to trade and buy delicious food and spirits as they pleased. At his passing, Mr. Wheatley took the business into his own hands with the help of his stern but generous wife. It was hard the first few years, but once Mr. Wheatley got the hang of things business couldn't be better and their family couldn't be happier. At least that is what everyone in town thought. Behind closed doors, the two desperately wanted a child, year after year they prayed to the Goddess to bring them a child. But their prayers were not answered. Finally the couple traveled to the Goddess with their finest and most expensive champagne and one rare golden egg. Offering the Goddess these gifts, he asked once more for her to bless them with a child. One year later, the wish had came true, and into the world came Waconia. Waconia Wheatley. Granted, they really wanted a boy, but a little girl would have to do. Years went by as the girl grew, learning everything there was to know about the bar, being a lady (though she sometimes doesn't always follow those dainty procedures), and just appreciating the land. Nia's father and mother had raised her well, and when her parents decided to retire to the city life, it was a no-brainer that their prodigy would take over the family's business. When the rot began, Waconia worried deeply. It effected so many lives and her once joyful establishment became a place for people to drown their woes. Hopefully the new person in town will bring the town exactly what they need.
