Eh, I'd sort of disagree. I recently asked to join an RP that is well into 200 advanced posts. Before I even asked I made sure to have at least skim read every post so I had an idea where the story is at and who the characters are. I'll be sure to thoroughly read it all before I join too. That's just me, but I want to know the story, I want to see how people write - and I just think it's a massive sign of respect to the work that's already been put in by every individual involved. 

It really wouldn't take you too long to catch up and read it.
