[b]Personality:[/b] Stoic, acerbic, and cynical. All words describing Hector Marden. Some think of him as a depressed individual, but he prefers to think of himself as a realist. In his opinion, life is about focusing on the goal in front of you and not fussing about in the meantime. He has little love for time wasting and silliness, and he won’t hesitate to let you know if you’re bothering him. He is not so above it all he doesn’t enjoy the odd sarcastic jab from time to time, but he can’t stand people who are just all too flippant.

There is a place in Hector’s heart for helping others. Unlike others, he prefers to take a long term approach to it. Rather than rush in and scream bloody murder in someone’s defense, Hector prefers to step back, take in the situation, and come up with a solution that will actually work, no matter how long it takes. He’ll absolutely help someone in need, he’ll just take his sweet time, and he won’t look like he gives a damn through the whole ordeal.

[b]Backstory:[/b] Hector is the son of an Undertaker working in London. He had little to do with his father’s work as a lad, but it found its way into his life. After telling some kids at his school about what his dad did for a living, one of them began spreading nasty rumours about him. People began to whisper that Hector lived around dead bodies, that he liked seeing dead people, that he would kill them to prop up his dad’s business. It was all stupid childish nonsense, but more than a few in his class took to it, and Hector became somewhat withdrawn due to his treatment.

In spite of the negativity he had endured in relation to it, when Hector came of age, he began to help his father with his work as a part timer. He heard a lot of terrible stories about the people who came to them, and about how they died. At first it disturbed him, but eventually he became almost dead to it all. While he never stopped caring at all, he never reacted to someone’s tale of woe with an ounce of passion again. Although Hector works as a part time undertaker for now, his plan in life is to go on to become a doctor, and is presently attending med school. If asked, he’ll say he just feels like a change of pace.
