His fists were armed, glowing radiantly thanks to the light from the sun above and his eyes were focused, narrowed with a stern seriousness that made him appear to be a totally different guy. But that all changed almost instantaneously when a few things happened. First off was the obvious: the barge had come to a full stop, rocking those who were mobile forward (or backward depending on how far forward/back they were leaning). In Zestasia’s case, his body was hunched slightly forward, so as gravity took over, he took a few tumbling rolls. His body stopped with it hit something solid like a metal of some sort. Truth be told, Zestasia was more focused on trying to regain his footing and enjoying the fact that he now had a raging headache. Once he was up and on his feet, Zestasia scanned around, his cerulean eyes first looking in front, then to every side possible, and then behind him. Though everything seemed to be relatively normal, it did take him just a moment longer than it would’ve taken the normal person to realize that he was no longer glowing. He didn’t think much of it at first. He did take a hard hit when he crashed into part of the barge, so his focus was off just a tad. “No problem, let me just do something about that,” Zestasia said, gathering his magic. No good. Nothing came of it. “Okay, let’s try again.” And still, nothing came. Did he really use up all of his reserves when activated his Solaris Pallio? No, that wasn’t it. Something else must be wrong. Zestasia ran a few scenarios through his mind. One of them was the sun being blocked out since his main source of power was the sun, but that didn’t make any sense. He hadn’t dipped into his reserves. Plus, when he looked up, the sun was still out, so that wasn’t the reason why he couldn’t activate any of his magical spells. So then, what could it be? The sudden lack of an answer brought frustration to Zestasia and he began to scratch his head out of said frustration, angrily grunting, though that would soon fade into a gasp as he saw shadows of what appeared to be some kind of avian-like creature. He didn’t do anything at first. As they were fast-approaching the barge, Zestasia eyed them warily. It became apparent to Zestasia that they weren’t flying south for winter. First off, it wasn’t even cold outside. And secondly, they were centered at the barge and they took to a diving assault. Instinctively, Zestasia rolled forward, avoiding any direct confrontation with the angered birds. However, his jacket was caught and part of his pant leg had been snipped off like a knife does with softened butter. Zestasia’s previous slight worry was now on the border of panic. These birds had human flesh on their mind. Whatever the reason, he had that much figured out. There was just something about the noises they made that made that much obvious to him. “So, what now? Fight or flee? For some reason, I can’t use my magic and these birds seem to be stronger than your average parrot.” He said, looking at the hot blonde and his brother. He would be down for either option, but the lack of access to his magic made the fleeing option preferable.
