[@rocketrobie2][@CollectorOfMyst] Father C is in range of 2 stranglers, so he could kill one but the other would still be blocking him. He could reroll the escape test by spending a determination, but that's a 1/6 chance of success. He could spend a determination to reroll his miss in the hopes he can kill the forth strangler, but again he might miss (less likely) and you are right, he'd have to escape the Tentacle (easier though). Either way you'd have to spend determination, which might be hard to regain, since there are alot of monsters on the map tile.

Also you can't melee attack and shoot, unless you have the Cavalry Sabre that Deputy Hawkeye used to have. I think there might be a couple other items like that, but I'm not 100% sure. But then being close to the other creatures might trigger them to attack you instead of running.
