His face was the picture of serenity while on the inside he was a nervous wreck. JJ felt like a pressure cooker on the inside. If he was any more nervous, JJ most likely would have exploded from the jitters. Something about the guy in front of him just made his head feel like it was spinning. Perhaps it was because JJ had guessed he was new and felt a camaraderie with Matt. Perhaps it was the fact that the guy just stood out in the crowd. Matt had seemed serene as he looked out at ocean. JJ never did care for the ocean but Matt had caught his eye just by standing there. JJ was terrible at seeing people but yet he kept his eyes only on Matt. In a party with all of the beautiful people here, JJ only could look at Matt. His stomach kept flipping like a car in a twister but he managed to keep himself looking confident. Some people thought that he just fell off the tater truck with his accent but JJ always tried to appear as classy as possible, His best trait had to be his accent and JJ knew how to lay on the charms when he wanted to be. People seemed to either love the accent or hate it. It all depended on what people enjoyed. JJ had learned early on that the best way of talking to someone he liked was to lay his accent as thick as honey. That meant he would use his slightly crazy way of speaking. Most people couldn’t understand most of his phrases and that always put a smile on JJ’s face. ”Well, it sure is a pleasure to meet ya, Matt. Didn’t think I would meet someone else on the outside of the party. Figured that everyone would be getting wrecked or whatever the invitation said that we were going to do. I never did like huge parties like this but I figured I had to get away from my family. The High King of Snobs was in rare form tonight. “JJ said as he looked out at the ocean enjoying the small amount peace by watching the dark water. His accent was a thick as frozen molasses right now. In his eyes, his family was the most messed up family in the area. Despite the vast amount of evidence to the contrary, JJ was stubborn as a mule when it came to how terrible he saw them both. Tonight was all about trying to forget the JJ never had the desire to go out there and dance. It was not that he didn’t like to dance but he didn’t like dancing in a crowd of people. When it came to dance with someone else, he suddenly grew two left feet and was just a bundle of nerves. So, he was glad to be outside and away from the group. Some people were here just to get laid while JJ had no idea why he was there. The most interesting thing so far had been meeting Matt and that made the night all that much better. Despite his nerves and his jitters, JJ as brave as the first man to eat an oyster. He figured that the worst thing Matt could do was punch him in the face and be done with him. That didn’t mean that he wouldn’t at least try to get to know Matt a little better. “ You were gone then? I mean where did ya go? Sorry for prying but I never knew that people left Beverly Hills though I want to. I mean this place does kinda feel like a cage at time. Though it is nice to meet you, Matt. I’m fixin’ for a walk on the beach. Ya’ll have such nice beaches round here and I want to get away from the crowds for a bit. I would like if you walked with me so I don’t want to get lost and walk into the ocean by accident. “ JJ said as a laugh lit up his face. He wanted Matt to come with him for the walk so he wouldn’t be alone right now. He figured that the offer would give them an excuse to talk more without the whole party hearing them. They were usually dour affairs with violins and champagne. The most fun that ever happened at a place like that was someone would admit to sleeping with someone else’s husband or a slap fight would break out. Society parties were there for showing off whatever you had and your “friends” didn’t have. His parents always acted like each party was a single battle in a much larger war. They had to show up everyone else or the party would be considered an utter failure. Nate would have to dress up in his best penguin tux to make his parents happy. People like Isaac would never be allowed to come to a society party which was a shame. Isaac seemed oddly interesting despite all of his scary faces. Nate preferred parties like this so he could meet all sorts of people. Nate shrugged when Isaac asked his question. “I am not that much of a party animal. Not like this at least. I mean the invitation did order us to get wrecked or something. So I suppose we should do as we were told?” Nate asked with a quick shrug of his shoulders. He probably knew just as much about high school parties as Isaac which was definitely saying something. Nate knew quite a lot of things but letting loose at a rager like this was not in his repertoire. Before he could say anything else, Isaac was in the middle pulling two guys from fighting. Most people would have just watched and let the two brawl for the fun of it. Nate probably would have let them settle their issues like men but Isaac ruined the fun. Nate watched in rapt attention before Isaac turned and looked at him. He was an odd duck that Isaac but Nate kind of found his oddness interesting. Nate didn’t stop Isaac when he mentioned that Nate was his friend and that was fine in his eyes. As soon as the two guys stopped fighting and fled from Isaac, Nate walked up towards the other guy. ”Well that was impressive. I mean most people would have let them fight. I was gonna put money on the winner. Let’s get something to drink.” He said as they saddled up to the bar. Nate didn’t turn his head to address the bartender. “A vodka sounds… “ Nate said as he noticed a single girl behind the bar. He was going to start laughing but then he figured that he would have done terrible if he was all alone behind the bar. The whole beach would be on fire if Nate tried to tend the bar alone. Still, he wanted to help this girl. He couldn’t pronounce her name. “nice… Can we help you with this? I mean Isaac and I can help you tend the bar if you want? I am pretty sure I couldn't tend a bar at a party like this by myself.” Nate said feeling bad for her be left all by herself at the bar. Even though Nate didn’t drink that much himself, he could still tend bar from watching the bartenders at his family’s parties. “We can help her, right Isaac?” Nate said turning his attention back to Isaac.
