She'd been dancing with a random group of people who'd been nearest her, not bothering to learn their names because she knew that by the time morning rolled around, she wouldn't remember them. Instead, she turned up, only slowing down when she noticed that Liesl was headed in her direction. "Hell yeah I'm having fun. No, fun would be an understatement." Chanel answered, raising her voice a bit to be heard over the music, to which the group of teenagers she was with shouted in agreement. She simply shook her head and laughed as she grabbed Lee by the hand and led her back to an empty corner of the room. "I was wondering when you'd show up, girl," Chanel said as she took a quick look around, "This is probably one of the biggest parties of the year. What better way to meet new people, yeah?" Chanel didn't know much about Liesl, but she did know that the younger woman had just recently moved back to Beverly Hills from the other side of the country. Chanel knew that she was probably one of few people who Lee knew, and decided to make it her mission to not only have fun, but introduce her around as well. Lee laughed at her remark. As Chanel led her to an empty corner of the room, she was thankful for the little bit of quiet so that they actually can hear each other. “My mom,” she explained simply, rolling her eyes in annoyance. “I would’ve totally gotten here sooner.” Her verdure eyes surveyed the room, consciously taking in all the people she didn’t know and, for the first time since she arrived, not feeling so overwhelmed. “I know right?” She agreed, her voice bubbly. She paused before continuing. “Honestly, I’m not used to parties this large,” she admitted, chuckling. “But despite that, I’m so up for having fun tonight.” Before they could continue, she peered up and spied a tall guy that she didn’t know making his way towards them. Assuming he was coming over to talk to Coco, Lee took a tiny step back so that they could have their space. Nodding her head and chuckling, Chanel said, "Gotcha. Good thing my mom wasn't home when I left, or I would've been in the same boat." Chanel had just noticed that she had a fresh notification on her cell phone when Jerome arrived, and opened his message just at he spoke. "Yeah, I feel ya," the young woman said with a shrug, "just glad that y'all are here. I was getting tired of dancing with the freshies." As Chanel spoke, she nodded her head in the direction of the crew who stood not too far away, minding their own business. Shaking her head and reaching back into her purse for the flask, Chanel finally noticed that Lee had backed up a bit. "Hey, J. You haven't met Lee yet, have you?" Jerome proceeded to walk straight towards the duo of females, while absorbing the parties atmosphere. He rubbed his jawline before he looked at Chanel. "Lee? Na shit haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you yet. Name’s Jerome, football team...player for now.. It’s a long story yea?" Jerome said, his face unsure of what his statement truly meant due to the drama of the football team. Lawrence had recently done all that can be done to cement his position as the leading running back for the school team. The paper at school during the summer posted the rumor of Jerome quitting, of him maybe sitting out the season or changing positions. A proposition that Jerome is more and more inclined to take as the pre-season looms near. He thought about this for a brief moment before shaking his head and returning with a visible smile. "My bad, slightly zoned out, work’s been on my mind as of late. Listen you ladies down to hit the bar? I could do with a Corona." “Nice to meet ya,” Liesl said, her smokey eyes crinkling at the corners. “I’m Lee,” she added. Football player? Yeah, she most likely would’ve guessed that he was one by his stature and build. Confused and ignorant to the "long story" he mentioned, she just nodded sympathetically, unsure of what to say. As Jerome suggested them going to the bar, her attentive orbs glazed over to Coco to see if she desired to go. “Sure, I’m down.” Lee flashed her pearly whites, eager to explore a different place in this huge mansion. “You comin’, Coco?” The ends of Chanel's mouth curled up into a smile as she nodded at the two that stood by her. "Hell yeah, I'm down," she exclaimed, "I'm running low, anyways." So, along with Lee and J, Chanel made her way to the bar, side-stepping some girl as she danced wildly and dropped to the floor. Though she'd told herself that the Henny in her flask would be the only alcohol she'd consume that night, Chanel was surely about to break her promise. She had never been much of a drinker, but suddenly felt the urge to take a shot or two. She didn't want to get drunk, like the girl she'd seen not too long ago, but she definitely wanted to feel the buzz. When they reached the bar, Chanel tapped her hand on the counter and glanced at her friends with a coy smile before calling out to the bartender. "Hey, could get three shots of Vodka and a Corona?" Chanel knew that Lee wasn't much of a drinker, but hoped that the girl would indulge her. "How about a toast to the new year, huh? New year, new us, and all of that bullshit, right?" Her eyes sparkled like the sequins embroidered on her pricey heels and her mind flitted back to her hopes and expectations she secretly held as she listened to Chanel wanting to toast to the new year. “Yes girl, let’s do it.” Lee allowed her slim fingers to reach out and grab her shot glass once the bartender relinquished all of what Coco had ordered. Jerome proceeded to walk the bar, looking around at the packed dance floor and house. He seemed to nod along while following the females towards the bar, which was mainly occupied by second years eager to try their first shots of vodka or booze only to throw up a hour later and regret life. He stood beside Chanel as his eyes directly averted to the back of the bar, where all the booze was kept. Jerome smirked as he noticed the booze display behind the bartender, paying her little attention until he had decided what he wanted. Damn homie, Henry’s got the good shit, imported whiskeys, aged and spiced rum, even actual tequila from fucking Mexico! Shame I have to drive, Jerome thought before he looked Chanel who had ordered for the trio. Jerome simply nodded along as he received his shot of vodka. Jerome then raised his shot glass into the air. "Cheers to another year of worthless drama, stress and all the other shit we enjoy," said Jerome as he smirked, holding his shot glass in the air. Before being the first one to down the contents of the Vodka shot glass. Chanel shook her head and laughed, holding her own shot glass into the air next to his. "Cheers to that!" The young woman then tilted her head back and swallowed the entire contents of the shot glass in one gulp, without blinking. The liquid burned as it trickled down her throat. She set the empty shot glass on the counter with a shudder and wiped her mouth with her hand, careful not to smudge her lipstick. "God, that was awful." Last one of the trio to do so, Lee gulped down the vodka quickly before setting the empty shot glass back on the hard surface. Her lips pursed together as burning sensation was immediately felt as the drink ran down her esophagus. Chuckling at Chanel’s remark, she agreed that it was pretty awful. Jerome nodded along to the duo. "That’s why you stick to rum and fucking gin," remarked Jerome, shaking his head in anguish. He looked around for a brief moment to survey the party. Mostly, he was admiring the large house and it’s openness. They had to be at least a hundred people here and everyone simply had a enough person space to operate. His gaze stopped upon a untouched pool table that a few freshmen vacated after having a brief conversation about. "Ima’ go play some pool and shit, come through later if one of you want’s a lift yea?" Jerome said, nodding to both of the females before taking the cold Corona from the bar. He then walked straight to the pool table to examine it more closely. “Yeah, I’ll hit you up,” Chanel said with a nod. “Appreciate it!” Liesl thanked Jerome for his offer as she saw him go. She then orbited around to Chanel to meet her gaze. “Let’s do something exciting,” Liesl said randomly before pausing and continuing, “Or at least find someone to have a New Years kiss with,” She joked, laughing merrily at their own singleness. Liesl leaned her back against the counter, her elbows leisurely resting on the clean surface as she surveyed the room once more. “How ‘bout we go and see what’s going on in kitchen,” she suggested, but then recalled her friend also fancied dancing a lot. “Or we could go back to dancing?” She didn’t really care where she went as long as she fulfilled her goal of having fun tonight. Chanel simply laughed and shook her head at her friend’s enthusiasm. At the mention of a New Year’s kiss, the girl laughed even harder, knowing damn well that the only thing she would be kissing when the clock struck twelve was this hell of a year goodbye. That, or the floor if she manages to get a bit too hammered and passes out in the middle of the room. She pondered Lee’s question for a few moments before answering. “I think we should hit up the kitchen and see what they got in there to eat,” the young woman said, her stomach suddenly growling at the mention of food. “I need something to soak up all of this alcohol, you know?” Chanel led the way to the kitchen, Lee following not too far behind. She wouldn’t stop until she got her hands on some tortilla chips and salsa.
