@BlackPanther Elsa watched him while still playing. The piano was second nature to her, her fingers moving of their own accord so that she did not have to concentrate overmuch. "From what I have always read the Fae are playful but cruel," she replied. "But humans can be far crueler to each other," she added, the frost coming back to her voice for a moment. Her fingers stilled, the music trailing off. Her eyes held a far away look. "You're a bad little girl Ellie. God says you have to obey to your parents. Obey Daddy or you will be punished." "You're not my daddy! Let go!" "Such a bad little girl. Bad little girls are punished by God." "Do you think this is punishment?" Elsa asked in a small, scared voice. "Do you think God has forsaken us? Left us to be tortured and devoured by these creatures? Is this what Hell is?" Had she been such a terrible person? Was God really this vengeful? This heartless? Was there even a God at all? Or was that another lie from arcane times made to scare people into doing as they were told? For the first time in a very long time, tears pricked at the corners of Elsa's eyes. They pooled, shimmering in the light before falling down her cheeks like liquid diamonds. The ice around her heart cracked, making her clutch at her chest at the pain of it. The unknown was the most terrifying thing of all. She knew what to expect from the monsters she had grown up with. These monsters were strange and unknown. Could one request death from the Fae? If she asked, would the King grant her relief? Elsa cradled her head in her hands. She had battled dark thoughts her whole life but never to this degree. Logic forced its way up through the mire, struggling to reach the surface. Was something going on here? Someone, or something, digging up the darkness and amplifying it?
