Starkiller base has gone activate and war with the New Order has begun, an Emergency Chancellor has been selected. Mon Mothma once again heads the Republic, the destruction Hosnian system and the main fleet must be answered. Being one of the few Rebellion era Generals still serving in the Republic I have been ordered to re-organize and prepare fleets to strike back against the New Order.

As such, all Republic vessel's are back to active status. All current New Republic Captains are being assigned to vessels readied for war. Finally, all senior students at the New Republic Fleet Academy have been named lieutenants and brought into the service. Fighter squads are being moved to serve on board these ships, you are cleared to respond to New Order attacks as you see fit. We are at war and if you want to see us all stay free, you'll show these remnants who runs the galaxy now.

Star Defender [b]Independence[/b] will not join not any of our defense fleets, instead, we need our most capable warship to head into the outer rim and buy us time. The Star Defender project was created to give hope, with ships able to match the Empire's deadliest weapons, and crews of the finest soldiers in the New Republic. You will engage and strike blows at our enemy outside of Republic-controlled space. You will bring hope, defend those who freedom while we make our combat preparations.

This is Captain Mevum Thein of the New Republic to all personnel of the Independence, we are preparing to jump to the outer rim. All pilots go on alert, we have orders to cause maximum damage to First Order forces we are outside the chain of command and the resupply. At our disposal is a ship capable of matching anything the enemy can throw at us, the main fleet around Hosnian prime is no more. No other Star Defenders remain, our first mission will be to Ryloth we have reports of Remnant Imperial Star Destroyers. As such prepare to engage the enemy, all fighters and soldiers are to prepare for imminent contact with the First Order.

So as written above, I'm looking for people interested in the idea of playing a New Republic capital ship fighting in the outer rim causing distractions and keeping hope alive. Some of this stems from the fact I'm not a fan of some of the stuff from The Last Jedi, however, the main point of this is I want to tell a real war story. One where a ship loyal crew and brave soldiers actual matter in Star Wars.

As for the rolls, any personnel on the ship can be a character. The Independence is basically the Republic's answer to a Super Star Destroyer like the Executor or Resurgent class ships. Built using Mon Calamari technology this seventeen-kilometer long ship holds more starfighters than Imperial ships of the same size, and enough supplies to survive ship years. It shields and systems are built redundantly to allow for the vessel to survive direct hits to critical systems.

History: Designed by Admiral Ackbar as a counter to the Super Star destroyer class vessels the Independence was named after the Rebellion cruiser which survived the battle of Endor and Jakku. Only two Star Defenders were ever built. The Home One, the flagship of the Senate fleet was destroyed at Hosnian Prime.
