Should make an interesting dynamic; Looking forward to the potential interactions, both friendly and potentially a bit hostile. 

Even if they did fight, I don't think Romt would go terribly far with him, even if Flash decided to do the opposite. Romt would more hope to make a point than actually hurt him, as he's known him for so long. That being said, I don't think a calm but blunt scolding would do him much good aside from maybe getting him to back off. 

Pissing off the guard dog is a bad idea, yes. I just imagined that on occasion some of the children are told that Romt eats bad kids. Which would irritate him, as he's spent a lot of his life trying to be more civil and not come off as some brutish monster that lives in the ground.
