Alright here is my character after hashing some things out, hopefully, you guys like it. He's a bit rushed but he should be interesting at the very least.

A young man of average height as he stands at 5'10 and possesses a muscular stature underneath the layers that he wears commonly wears should he ever be seen without them for some reason. His style of clothing varies from time to time with what he wears from his wardrobe as there is a variety of styles for whatever the occasion that he may be planning for. They can sometimes be intricate with several layers of clothing that build up to a nice outfit and other times be simple creations with a shirt and flannel tossed together with jeans for casual outings. On his head, he has dirty blonde hair that looks like different shades of brown when rustled in the light of the sun and a pair of hazel eyes that compliment the color his hair. With a light layer of hair that his beard on his angular face, he looks like a person who carries himself well with both his appearance and presence that he has about him.[/color][/center]

[color=silver][i]Where to in Life?[/i] The path in life for a normal person that lives in the modern day all leads to college, whether they receive a degree or certificate of their education, it is thought to be a very necessary process by many. Even this mindset has not escaped Joseph who has done his time going through school and gaining what he needs to survive in the world. Balancing aspects of his life so that none of them overwhelm parts of his life which is usually a slippery road to go down. 

[i]The Scholar[/i]. Hopefully, those years in college weren't for nothing as Joseph has spent several years in repaying the loans that funded the degree he spent several years for. With a major in both Chemistry and English that he received at the same time, he is quite capable of the academic grind that was needed for both. While his knowledge of science may be more concrete material, he is more interested in mythology which lead him to follow the dream of taking on that English major. In the end, though, he settled for pursuing his vocation in science and got his Masters in the subject of Chemistry. Grabbing a job as both a science and English teacher at the current place that he is working at right now.

[i]The Artist.[/i] Art can be much more than the things that people stick to paper or any other medium to decorate. It can be the music that people listen to or the dance that people combine with the notes and rhythm that comes with such sound. In the end, what inspires all of these different forms of art is the creativity to do such a thing in the first place. Joseph always had a fancy for doing such things, being a 'sketcher' as he liked to call himself when doodling on paper, or 'two-faced' when easily slipping into roles for theater. There was simply never the opportunity to fully unearth his talents but they are still there, which he likes to exercise every once in a while. 

[i]The Traveler.[/i] While raised in a household that had family from all over the States, he never truly appreciated the experience that came with those opportunities. It wasn't until he was a teenager in High School that his teacher sparked the interest in him, a role model you could say, that inspired him to travel. With both learning about the differences that each place had to the home, he was familiar with. He grew to appreciate those chances that he got to take and eventually during college got to study abroad in Spain where he fell in love with. After graduating and securing his job, over the summers that he had free, he took the chance to explore more countries where he picked things up here and there. Gaining a number of langauges under his belt with varying fluency, with Spanish being indistinguishable from a native that gets its fair share of doubletakes when he speaks. 

[i]The Apprentice.[/i] Magic is a concept that has only been taught to Joseph yet never performed by himself due to the current situation that the world was in before the return of magic. There has never been any display of magic due to its rarity and the artifacts that could perform miracles such as those in the barren world was guarded safely. While he may have the knowledge of how to cast such spells, actual application may vary with results and false information gathered over the centuries without magic. However, with the awakening of magic in the world and the situation he has been placed in, he will learn quickly or die trying to without much say in the matter. At the same time, he is not totally unprepared for what is happening as he has a decent about of knowledge of what is going on, but older members maybe more versed on what is happening. [/color]

[color=cadetblue][u][b]Backstory:[/b][/u][/color]
[color=silver]There exists a whole entire world outside of the dark age that humans are currently living in right now, filled with mysteries to be rediscovered and some that would be better left alone. In a dying tradition of studying magic even though one cannot do it is a very tedious process that has to be passed down to preserve the art. The art being passed down from one generation down to another, Joseph is the one next in line that inherited this burden for the family. 

Being raised both in the mundane world where everyone is aware of and yet at the same time with the knowledge that something more exists that people do not even know of. He was born to a family descended from the original Scholars, a group of individuals of practiced magic in the age where it prospered, however, with every passing generation has slowly eroded their knowledge. Books and other text have been lost or ruined, as even lessons have been distorted over time due to misconceptions from lack of real application. With the use of magic being a rare phenomenon that mostly limited to artifacts that still held their power after conserving what it had left in itself. Each generation of students who studied magic were inferior and more inferior than their parents, as it simply was meant to be from disuse over the ages. A dying practice that would resurge when the Gods awoke from their deep slumber. 

From his hometown of Washington, he was raised by a relatively normal family outside of the unique practices they had. Often having many family friends whom Joseph got to know very well over the years, with them at the same time getting to see the tiny boy grow up. In exchange for the eldritch mysteries, they were traded for familial bonds and fulfilling experiences that came with the connections that with the mundane. While the older generation that lived with their bodies as perversions of nature even got used to a state of complacency, becoming successful scientists, doctors, and other positions of prestige and academic rigor. There was the expectation on him to follow a path of similar status or at least not fall through the cracks that would be disgraceful of the desires entrusted to him. 

Through the years of being raised by his family, he was placed through a rigorous academic workload that would have overwhelmed any normal student. It would not be a stretch to say that he developed a few quirks during those years in school along with the activities that his family also placed on him as well. While financially well off, his family were frugal in their spending and had Joseph work to get most of the things that he wanted by himself. It would all serve a purpose when he would enter college, balancing his studies with work and other things he had going through his life at the time. Fast forwarding a few years after he got his degree and grabbing a comfortable job teaching teenagers like he once was before, it was a nice setup. With more life experience in his belt of both the world and going through the process of getting his teaching credentials in another continent. So far, Joseph's life has had its ups and downs but that only means that it has been eventfully, to say the least with what he has done.[/color]

His current goal right now is to survive the people and things that are hunting him down, and eventually find out the origin of how magic came back into the world. As a person, once he is safe, there is the question of where the return of magic originated from and what potentially caused it. With a unique event happening in his lifetime, it is something that he cannot simply ignore.[/color]

[indent]- The Staff of Cyl'Nyarlith, a powerful artifact for using magic in this new world that has experienced a boom in popularity. It currently is in disuse and wrapped up that prevents it from activating its inherent abilities to for magic.
- Vetra's Threads, a silk wrap that is said to prevent people from seeing the fate of something even with magic when wrapped around it.
 The artifact is currently wrapped around the Staff of Cyl'Nyarlith to prevent malicious eyes from attempting to find out where it is as Joseph transports it.[/indent][/color][/hider]
