The man wouldn't wake for some time, hours or days even. He would be weak for days from the healing. He wasn't sure why he'd done it, Quick Ben wasn't know for helping strangers out of the blue but simply being in the right place he'd felt compelled, if only to ease the mind of his current companion. Now he turned his gaze to the sky and summoned Serc, lifting himself into the air until his could see clearly over the tops of buildings. Below him the illusory copy of him broke apart into a cloud of inky black streamers that faded and disappeared. Concentrating fully now he felt his way through the air currents to where the beating of distant wings disturbed it. Some were already down but a few were left. Enough to make the effort worth it. He took hold of the entire mass of air and hammered it towards the ground as he gave chase. The high mage alighted onto the ground nearby and gestured again with perhaps a slight look of manic glee in his eyes. Streaks of scarlet lightning burst upwards through the street, heaving the ground momentarily before collapsing it inwards and burying the remains of the unfortunate creatures. Not that it was entirely necessary to protect her but the gesture was appreciated. It gave her a moment to glance around, spotting the decimated military roadblock and its scattered soldiers. She ran over, heedless of what else might be going on and picked up a rifle, scavenging a pair of extra magazine from the area. Given their poor track record thus far she simply shouldered the weapon, tracking the targets and waiting for an opening.
