[CENTER] [hider= Tatië Uialien] "I was never young. I had no mother to teach me of fear and grief." She spoke, the drums of doom on her tongue. "We of the First learned those things from the darkness, we gave them names. We knew loss where none had ever been lost before. We felt the FIRST FURY. Do not speak to me as though you know something of hate, for I am it's MAKER." She appears tense most of the time, powerful and prepared. Her movements are graceful, cat-like, predatory and in control. She feels ready for a fight at all times, always prepared and always alert.. REPRESENTATIVE COLOUR: Blacks and Browns and dull dark greens, she always is seen in more practical and graceless attire than her brethren. MANNER OF DRESS: Simplistic and easy to move in. She has plate armour for war but she favours leather and chainmail on occasion. Much of her clothing appears similar to the attire of the people of Harad and those men further South. Late into the Second Age she is usually seen in a very light-seeming scale mail made of a material of unknown origin that some may know to be Dragon Scale. The gold natural colour has darkened to a more bronze hue and though it is light, it is almost impenetrable. MANNER OF SPEECH: Calm, alert, short-spoken but thorough and bright. When she speaks of her passions it is clear she does not suffer from the same weariness of the world as the rest of her Kin. She is still happy and enthused and loyal to her home. RELIGION: The Valar are fools to her. She has felt many things over the years for her Gods, but by now it is apathy. She does not have the time to worry about their plans and purposes. Oromë remains the exception to this, having fought against the evil tides alongside him in the early dark of the world. APPENDICES - FIRST AGE Tatië awoke to stars. Her body was new yet full grown, her hair loose but already long and her mind bright but with the patience of one far older than she. The bright starlight of her first brief moments on middle eath were forever burned into her memory after that moment and she could never wish for more. Tata's touch beside her was the second memory that would never dim. He was a stranger, but she knew him, both their thoughts and emotions were so open and trusting towards each other from the first moment and on. It was incredibly easy to love him. She had been passionate from the first, inquisitive and daring, running with wolves and exploring the forests and diving into Cuivienen's waters when she could. With the kin they met, she was calm, gentle, reassuring in her confidence. However she was not afraid to dislike, she and Imil never were friends and she did not balk from speaking her mind on him and to him. But in general she was well liked and trusted amongst the Elves of her Tribe and their people relied on her as much as her Partner. And so they lived in peace for some years, hunting the forests and wandering the grasslands all under the cover of bright starlight. Tatie bore Tata a son, Finwe, a strong boy who grew into his powerful mind quickly. The three tribes of the Elves were all blessed with births and they delighted in the beauty around them and the simplicity of life. However this innocence was not to last. Morgoth found them first. Darkness began closing in on them, they were forced to flee in time, Tatie gathering her clan quickly and as weeks went by they were slowly pushed back to Cuivienen's shores. Before they were about to take to the Water, suddenly the blowing of clear horn sounded and hooves with the thunder of wardrums approached and a magnificent man on a pure white horse rode in to force the shadow back. Orome was glorious. There was no doubt of his god-hood. He came with words of wisdom and offers of aid against their new foe. He taught them to make bows and spears and spoke with Tatie on the ways of the land so that she might hide their brethren better. But he had to leave eventually to inform his own kin of the Elves plight and once again, Tatie and their Kin were left alone. Orome was too late in returning to save Tata. In the days they endured alongside the darkness, fear turned to desperation and the Elves were taught terror and anguish as their loved ones were taken from them. Tata was amongst those lost, after he lead a small group to fend off their foe whilst Tatie fled with her kindred. When he did not come back, she sensed some great evil had befallen him and grew dark and harsh with heartache. However, she pushed aside her pain, dedicating herself to leading their people to safety when all others had lost heart. Nurwë was one who supported her at that time, an Elf of the Nelyar, following his Lord but claiming friendship with Tatië. When Orome finally returned, she was gladdened, perhaps now they might have the strength to oppose their enemy and win back their home. But again, Tatie was dissappointed. Orome came not to fight, but to flee, meaning to evacuate the Elves across the sea and to settle them in some other land far away. Tatie was vocal against this plan, begging Orome to instead stay and help them succeed on their own. At first her people were in agreement with her, heeding her words and fearing the long journey over land and sea. However, at Orome's askance, some of the Lords from the other tribes agreed to go as Emissaries to see this foreign land. Tatie was invited, but she flatly declined and it was thought that no one from the Tatyar clan would make the trip. But Tatie was sorrowed to find her Son had gone in secret. The Emissaries returned quickly and spoke as though enraptured of what they had seen. The change in her son concerned Tatië and she urged against his council, but she could only persuade a few. Eventually the Elves were sundered, Tatie watching Finwe lead many of their Clan West with Orome, while she stayed to defend her homeland. Orome was sympathetic to her plight, promising to return and hunt with her and gifting her a Horse and Hound from his own incredible breeds. He also gave her his friendship and respect. Nurwë was also one who agreed and repeated her Council, becoming the Leader of the remnants of his tribe as the rest travelled Westward. In the years that followed, Tatie lead her people with a grim determination, becoming known as 'Avarintari' and strengthening them against their foe. They learned the terrible fate that had befallen their lost kindred as well. Twisted creatures resembling their loved ones came to pillage and murder, a gruesome image of her own Husband leading them. Tatie was forced to slay him herself, thereafter forsaking her given name and going by 'Morwë', feeling the gentle woman in her die away. She did well. The Avarin were nomadic and they roamed far, crossing deserts and jungles to the far east and discovering seas and mountain ranges that have fallen into Legend. They learned the subtle crafts of creeping past the evil hordes and remaining undetected, evading Morgoth's corruption for the most part. They also learned War. Orome endeavoured to teach them how to make weapons when he could. In her time she faced Trolls and Orcs and Balrogs and all number of horrors and survived them all. Her instincts for battle became keen and her mind became ruthless and suspicious. So when the Dark Forces pulled back West, whilst others called it a blessing, she called it concerning. She eventually left her young Captain, Nurwe, in charge of their people and took some loyalists of her tribe on a great Journey across Middle earth, hunting and tracking their enemy. When they finally came past Ossiriand and entered Beleriand, they rose to the glaring sight of sunlight. Morwë came upon Feanor's host, not feeling the same gladness to see them as her companions. She quickly gathered that, not only were these Elves from across the sea arrogant, they also had no knowledge of what dark foe they had angered. This was why Morgoth had drawn back his forces, he wished War upon these fools whom had crossed the Seas for glory and honour in battle. They wished to be Lords of a Land they had abandoned long centuries ago and believed themselves greater than their sundered kindred. Morwë was furious with cold anger. She became a dark force in the battles to come, a staunch ally to some or a terrible enemy to those who claimed superiority and dominion over her Homeland. SECOND AGE Just before the War of Wrath and the coming of the Second Age, Morwe turned back from the battles in the West and Journeyed home to the Farthest East. Her arrival was not the glad return she had imagined. A Dark Elven sorcerer had come from Utumno's halls and used twisted magicks to rise as King of the Avari, ruling over them for many Hundreds of Years. Not only that but Morwe found a dark and twisted Maia of Morgoth manipulating the Hildor of the Region and gathering them for his Master's evil service. Morwe was furious with righteous rage. Still, at least some of her People had remained Loyal to her and had allied with a few of the faithful Hildor and Dwarves of those Lands against the schemeing forces in their lands, but the rebellion was small and all had seemed hopeless until their Queen's return. Morwe rallied her loyalists as well as drawing many of her betrayers to repent, gathering a force of all manner of Races to Marshall as an Army against the corruption that had seeped into her Kin. The resulting Battle of Palisor against the Maia, Fankil's, armies was gruelling and bloody and whilst the Evil ones were pushed into retreat, neither side could claim proper Victory. Tu, the Sorcerer King, fled into the Orocarni Mountains and Morwe pursued him deep into the caverns below Cuivienen's waters, slaying him in the dark and leaving him to rot there. Her fury was great, coupled with her guilt for remaining absent so long and as the Age turned and the shockwaves were felt from Beleriand's obliteration, Morwe swore to never so abandon her people again. Nevertheless, all were grateful for her return and she quickly gathered whom she could, leading them dutifully as they rebuilt their homes and erected tall cities. With a heavy heart, she worked to distance her kin from the Hildor of the region, knowing them to have ill influences no matter how honourable some may be. Their weak hearts were a danger and she had to think of her own. They built a magnificent walled city on the edge of Cuivienen, later known as Helcarth, and farmed lush pastures around its shores with rivers and waterfalls riddling the lands. Morwe's most loyal, the Cuind whom had followed her West, descended deep into the Orocarni Mountains and befriended the Dwarves there. They lived alongside them and cultivated great friendship with that people and became unusually learned in smithing and mining, a relationship Morwe encouraged. Others of the Avari went South, some making homes in the deep Jungles of the Cloud Forests, some choosing to settle in the Deserts of Harad and Khand and some scattering even further West to the Sea of Rhun. Morwe tended to all her people, traversing the lands and never remaining long in place. Soon after Beleriand was destroyed the lands to the East again felt the power of Morgoth when one of his Dragons came to settle in the Orocarni mountains high above. She made herself quickly at home and Morwe was grimly ready to gather her people and attempt to kill the creature, knowing her casualties would be severe. However, she held off for a time and was surprised by how calm and content the creature seemed. She met with the Men of the Region, even seemed to like them! And she made no attempt to pillage or destroy any of Morwe's brethren. So she just left her be! There was no need to sacrifice lives just yet if the Dragon would do no harm. The Hildor named her Utumkôdur, Golden Sky Goddess, for she was indeed Golden and very glorious. It came to pass that eventually, late into the Second Age, Morwe was forced to kill her, when her empire of men whom worshipped her started attacking Avarin colonies. It was a gruelling battle, but Morwe slew the creature with an Arrow to its eye and she had a suit of light Armour made from her scales crafted for herself.
