[color=gray]The warthog snarled as it kicked dust upwards with a hoof, and glared at Maemi with beady, agitated eyes. Tusks glimmering a dirty white, the warthog prepared to charge at the girl, whom had been slowly backing away in fear of gored into a shish kebab on one of the warthog's tusks. Maemi had ventured into the forest to heal the wounds afflicted by drought, with her magic being a source of nourishment outside of rain. 

Nonetheless, she had forgot to factor in any sort of thought that the animals that resided in the forest might be somewhat territorial due to the lack of food, and it was to her luck that Maemi stumbled right onto the feeding grounds of a rather large and vicious warthog.[/color] [color=#dfbf9f][b]"Please don't kill me!"[/b][/color] [color=gray]Maemi exclaimed as she took off in a full on sprint, despite knowing that the warthog had no inclination of listening nor any understanding of any of the countless human languages.

Loud snorting followed after Maemi once she took off running, and run she did. Maemi ran deeper than she had ever been within the forest, her feet stumbling over various rocks and roots on the path she took. She was certain she was lost, yet with a deadly beast chasing her, Maemi had no time to ask the moss on the trees for which way had been north. Still, despite her best attempt to escape, Maemi's luck had soon run out as she trapped herself in a thick clearing--the warthog blocking her only exit.

Or so Maemi thought until she had the bright idea of climbing a tree.

Finding herself a solid and comfortable branch to hold onto, Maemi made sure to hold onto the branch for dear life whilst the warthog circled the base of the tree, waiting for her to fall down. Pausing for a moment to regain her breath, Maemi looked around to consider her options. Maemi could try climbing to another tree, but that would risk falling and turning into a broken and gored mess on the ground. Alternatively, she could use her magic to escape, although Maemi wasn't certain what existed in this neck of the woods. What if a nuckelavee or some other dangerous beast lurked nearby? It made Maemi shudder as she considered her next action.

More minutes passed as Maemi hung from the branch, struggling to come to a plan on how to escape from the death trap that paced beneath her. Escape begun to seem impossible, yet it seemed someone had finally come to Maemi's aid.[/color] [color=#dfbf9f][b]"A... A guardian angel?"[/b][/color] [color=gray]Maemi asked the winged woman, who instead of aiding the druid, shoved a letter into her hands on the pretense that it was urgent. Then, in a bright flash of light, the angel disappeared in a blinding spectacle that had forced even the warthog below Maemi to flinch.[/color]

[color=#dfbf9f][i]So much for escaping...[/i][/color] [color=gray]Maemi thought, her eyesight attempting to recover from the sudden flash of light. However, the sudden appearance and disappearance of the angel was soon the least of Maemi's concerns; her attention now diverted to a violent cracking sound.[/color] [color=#dfbf9f][b]"Uh oh..."[/b][/color] [color=gray]The branch was sure to snap, and there was only one way for Maemi to go: [i]down.[/i]

Scrambling with her hands, Maemi fumbled with the letter as the branch broke off from the tree. At this rate, Maemi knew she was doomed to a quick death, with probability of surviving minimal--no, death was certain with the warthog prowling the base of the tree. Nevertheless, hope seemed to come at the worst possible moment, as Maemi unknowingly ripped the letter in a panic for a solution or way out of falling to her death. Suddenly encased in another flash of light, Maemi and the branch seemingly disappeared out of thin air to who knows where.[/color]
