I wanted to congratulate you on your promotion, from whatever field of work you once used to do before ending up in this room and reading this very letter. You must have a lot of questions, and all of them will be answered in time. In fact, the first one will be you, wondering how you ended up here, and why you are even reading this.

That is a question that I can answer for you now.

You may have noticed some peculiar occurrences, either recently, or throughout your whole life on this forsaken world. Occurrences or events that seemed out of the ordinary, so different from what you believe, what you were taught, to be the norm, that you were starting to believe you were going insane. You told yourself that you were hallucinating, perhaps even dreaming, that no such things existed.

Well, what you saw was real.

Your mind was only trying to cope, rationalize something that was beyond what you believed. Perhaps you still think this is a dream regardless, despite the wings growing out of your back, or the horns piercing the flesh of your scalp since this very morning, or perhaps finding an actual Babadook under your bed, whatever your case and reason for being here may be.

In light of this, I'm sure you'd like know about the rumors you have heard, of Angels, Demons, even Monsters, existing in our little community of “normalcy” lurking in shadows of the night. They are rumors with no solid evidence, because we made them to be. We maintain some semblance of normalcy on this world, and this city we call Loom, because humanity needs to be protected, not only from the Paranormal, but also from itself.

This, will be your work, your duty, from now on, regardless of who or what you were before. Human, Angel, or even Demon. It no longer really matters.

Welcome to the interest check for Essence of the World: Flesh Reborn, a grim dark reboot of the original sandbox modern fantasy RP series created by Wild Wind on this very forum. A lot of the old vets looking at this will be thinking “Shhhiiiieeeeeet. It’s back?!”. You’re damn right it is. With the original creator’s full blessings, since she has no intention of writing anything in the near future, if at all.
Remember, if you are a vet, even all the way from Season 1, that this is a full reboot. We will be starting over from the very beginning, from the very building blocks that Wind established with the very first interest check, and that old website she made.

And for those of you who are new:

Flesh Reborn is a Sandbox RP set in modern times, with a science fantasy, and old school fantasy horror theme. While in the original iterations of EotW, the Supernatural was well known about, and even embraced. In this reboot I want to give this the slight twist of secrecy and conspiracy, where humans live in ignorance of the world around them, and the worlds that exist beyond their own, with some inspirations from the SCP Foundation, the Witcher, and The World of Darkness.

If this shows enough interest, I’ll set up a Discord Server for the RP so people can discuss their characters, and future subplots that they wish to make.

Be aware as there are two interest checks, for both casual and advanced, as I accept both writing standards.
