I'm working on my CS and have a couple of questions
1.  What are familiars, in the context of this story, and how do they work?
2.  What do you guys consider the life element to be in this setting?  I'm sure that the reason it was left kind of vague was so everyone could come up with their own ideas on the powers, but life is so broad, especially in the field of fiction that it literally overlaps everything outside of logic, and death.  
I mean, here are just a few examples I can think up off the top of my head.
-Animal control
-Plant control
-Forced evolution
-Biokinesis
-Stats manipulation
-Healing/ reviving
-Mental powers(since really the only difference between life and all other matter/ energy in the universe is consciousness)
-Age manipulation
-Life creation

I'm sorry if this post comes out as negative in anyway.  I only ask so it'll be easier for me to narrow down the character's abilities.  (As opposed to coming back over and over again with new ideas that don't  fit into the fabric of this world)
