The first thing most people notice about Naomi is her level of empathy, and how easily she can be affected by emotional contagion.  Her least favorite emotion is that of despair as enough of it, unlike other emotions, can leave her in a near comatose state, hugging herself in fetal position.  She is an extremely caring individual, that's quick to take on the burdens of others for her own.  She is aware of the type of limitations and issues such caring imparts on her, and does go out of her way to avoid large groups of people, and many times just tries to avoid people in general.

Due to their simplicity, Naomi does prefer animals over human beings, because even though they share many of the same emotions as mankind, they lack despair, and their problems are much simpler.  She's also an avid gardener, and enjoys long walks through forest, listening to the songs of birds and insects.
