Name:Astrid Hildebrand Nickname/Alias:Demon Slayer, Asstrid Age:[s]Nope[/s] 21 Gender:Female Allegiance:Jaegers Personality: Astrid is often regarded as the perfect soldier. Disciplined, strong, and cold headed in the battleground. However, those seemingly good things are shadowed by the sole fact that she doesn't shut up. She's capable of making jokes so lame about random things that sometimes is almost offending. This is because she never lets her job get at her, and tries to lighten the mood even if it's impossible or the wrong time to do it. Astrid is very aware of the darkness that looms on the Empire, but she knows that just one person can't do anything, so she doesn't try to do anything for it. Because she's more or less normal, she finds some things within the Empire very disturbing. While she has responsibilities to uphold, Astrid doesn't actually want more of them, resulting in her not climbing up ranks by fear that the work would end up piling more and more. She sees Night Raid as group of terrorist that spread the word justice all over, but what they do isn't better than the ones she's working for, so one of her self-imposed missions is to bring some of the members down by her own hand to prove herself right. Likes:Sleeping, Friends, Nature Dislikes:The Empire in general, The revolutionary Army, (Ironically) Bad Jokes Fears:The Empire, Her own Imperial Arms Bio:Raised in a fancy place, Astrid was drilled with the principles of a proper soldier since she had minimum use of reason. Her rich parents wanted a kid so they could enroll him on the army to gain fame, and by that logic, tons of money. Her being a girl didn't stop them from calling a high-ranked general to kick her butt almost every day since she was 5. There was no love between her parents and her, but no hate either. It was just a void relationship, born from the material desires of a greedy couple that only wanted more power in a maggots hole. It came to a time when Astrid, finally reaching the age of 17 years, challenged the general that had tortured her all her life. It was supossed to be a friendly spar, but it ended with the guy's head rolling on the ground, and almost all of his bones broken. Her parents weren't angry, quite the contrary, that made them proud. If she was strong enough to kill a general, she could ascend even easier. Again, more strength meant more power. She didn't have any hobbies, or life objectives, so fullfiling orders to a certain extent was the only thing that prevented her from losing her head. It was the only thing she knew how to do. Ascending ranks constantly, she was rewarded with her stupidly dangerous Imperial Arm. They were just testing it on her, but she could use it in the end, so that made her an importan asset of the Empire. Everything seemed like it was set on stone. She would live fighting, and would die fighting. Or that was, until the news of her abusive parents dying reached her. It was work of an assassin, or better said, assassins. Targeted by the revolutionary army, the only people that could even be considered as a family for her died coldly. She wasn't angry or sad, actually. She only laughed, not because of joy or insanity. The incident really seemed ironic and funny to her, so much that she couldn't help but to laugh until her sides hurt. Her oh-so untouchable parents, dying just like that from a moment to another. And then, she found it. The other thing that fullfiled her were funny things. Jokes. Astrid days were brighter than ever, knowing that one day, if she keeps making jokes, she will really laugh because one of them. She would fill that void she was born with, and would make other people laugh about it. After all, is better to die laughing than to die just fighting, right...? Imperial Arms: Dimensional Slasher: Caladbolg

This sword was made using the tendons of a serpent-like danger beast of the east, said to move so fast that it could break the sound barrier and even further. The tendons were used for the blade, and the scabbard is covered in flat and slim scales that makes it almost indestructible. Originally this sword doesn't have any better thing than its base abilities, but with training and creativity one can develop devastating techniques that can even harm the user itself. Its abilities are:

Friction Manipulation: Caladbolg's main ability. The serpent used to make the sword manipulated friction to move at impossible speeds, thing that the user can do too. With the power of friction, the user can boost the power and speed of its attacks to the limits, meaning that the slashes are always at top speed and power since the moment the sword is drawn. However, the friction can be manipulated so that the attacks of other people lose their original strength, making a sharpened sword hurt like a wooden branch if it hits, or a bullet like a paper-ball. Basically, Caladbolg is the ultimate offense and at the same time the ultimate defense. It still can be used without drawing the sword, for things like punches, or a passive "barrier". The power of friction is dangerous, of course, but there are 3 ways to render this useless:

If the user doesn't see it, it can't block it. For Caladbolg to work, the user needs to have a specific objective in sight. Surprise attacks are a must if one wants to win against this sword.

Caladbolg can only defend against one objective. The user can attack as many times as it wants, but it can't automatically defend with more than 1 opponent at the same time.

The range of the Imperial Arms is far, but limited. 10 meters is how far the user can deliver "air slashes" using friction, so fire weapons or the like are useful. Note that if the user has enough reaction, it can still defend a bullet or arrow.
Imperial Arms Trump Cards:
World Cleaver: Using the scabbard of Caladbolg as an extra sword, Astrid delivers a barrage of violent swings that cut through the air. It can't be dodged, but it can be defended, as the attacks are many but essentially weak.
WORLD CRISIS: Custom Trump Card made by Astrid. By using her full strength along with the friction manipulation, she can deliver a powerful slash that twists a certain space into a nonsensical state, destroying everything exposed to it. Its maximum range is unknown, but the last time she used it, an entire forest was erased without any trace. This attack doesn't have a real number of uses, but it puts so much stress on Astrid that it can destroy the arm she used the Trump Card with after one time, meaning that she can do it 2 times with her 2 arms before she can't fight anymore. This attack can leave irreparable holes in the time and space, making certain areas inaccessible in the aftermath.
(All the abilities that involve friction can only be used within 10 meters or less. More than that would tear apart the user's muscles for the strain) Extra:

She's ambidextrous.
Her arms are filled with scars for using swords great part of her life, being the reason of why she uses gloves.
Astrid has a "Jokes Book" where she supposedly writes down anything funny to her. It's actually empty.

[@Agent 47]Here's my Jaeger! Originally it was going to be a guy, but I changed to a girl. Also, her story is lacking details on purpose. It's simple, but it feels empty, eh?
