Taa-daa! Sorry for taking a figurative decade! She doesn’t have any cool suit or anything. She isn't into all that. Name: Zora Ridley Quote: "There's a pretty fine line between doing what's right and doing what's right for me. I definitely learned to stop walking on the wrong side of that line, it's just that... Helping other people kinda sucks." Alias: [s]Thunderthighs[/s] Tazer Age: 24 Gender: Female Occupation: Usually unemployed, sporadically works odd jobs. Currently a McDonald's cashier. Abilities: - Electrokinesis: Zora can create, shape and manipulate electricity. She can use it to manipulate and alter electronic devices, and she can also use it offensively and blast it at her enemies. - Lightning summoning/control: in the event of stormy weather, Zora can call down a bolt of lightning, and bend it to her will. She can redirect it immediately at another person or use it for a temporary boost in power. Summoning lightning is very taxing of her energy, though, and will likely be exhausted due to the act after she's use the lightning's energy. Weaknesses: - Water: Water is a massive counter to her abilities. Water and electricity don't mix. She's fearful of using her power near water because if anything goes wrong she might end up severely injuring herself. - Her size doesn't help: Zora is 5'2 and 105 pounds. She's not exactly a threatening physical force. She can't defend herself in hand to hand combat. - Power exhaustion: as already mentioned, overusing her powers causes her to get very tired and if she exhausts her energy reserves it could lead to unconsciousness. Her ability to summon lightning specifically wastes tons of her energy, which is why she doesn't like to use it unless she's in a desperate situation or if she's extremely angry. - Mental instability: Zora is a loose cannon. She was defined as mentally insane a few years ago, but after going through an asylum and receiving rehab at mental health institutions, she was deemed sane and able to walk the streets a normal citizen. However, she is still certainly a bit deranged. She is susceptible to crazy, senseless actions, and these are often to her detriment. Equipment: N/A Bio - Zora was born to parents she would never know. They left her at the door of an adoption home in the inner city, where she stayed for several years until she was adopted by a lower-class family. Alas, her foster parents weren't able to give her the care that she so desperately needed — in fact, they gave her quite the opposite. Her upbringing was full of physical and emotional abuse. Zora was neglected and used as a tool in her parent's criminal undertakings. Her foster parents were arrested after attempting a huge burglary, so she was again left with no family. But after years of living in a garbage home with garbage people, she swore she would never know poverty again. Zora found a group of troublemakers that took her in and they did petty crimes together. She trusted them, and even fell in love with one of them. Just when she started to get comfortable, they betrayed her. She was the scapegoat after they got caught trying to pull off the big one, and she was left penniless with a broken heart. She couldn't take all the disappointments and put-downs that life presented her. While she was in custody of law enforcement, she constantly freaked out on her interrogators. The tragedies in her life had pushed her over the edge. Whenever she would be released from prison, she would soon after get arrested again for committing another crime. She went on a streak of arrests around the age of 20, until she was finally locked down in a mental health institution under suspicion of being insane. She was subjected to many cruel forms of therapy while she was rehabbed into better mental health. She was the first(and only) patient to be treated with the "revolutionary" new kind of shock therapy. The brutal technique left Zora in a coma for a week, and when she awoke she felt... different. The effects of the therapy seemed to have stuck with her. She felt an affinity towards electricity, and learned she could control it. In the coming years, she was able to turn her life around. She considered the powers she'd received to be a "gift" of fate. The voices in her head convinced her it was some sort of divine intervention, and a message to use those powers for good. She proceeded to pass all her tests, and was visibly improving upon herself. After years of hopping around asylums and mental homes, she was declared sane and allowed to go free. Ever since, she's been trying to live a normal life, trying to maintain a job and a life of sanity. At the same time, she struggles with morality and having to figure out just how her new powers fit her into society. Relationships: Currently none
