(Hello all, it's me again! I'll be writing this interest check in character! Hope that doesn't weird anyone out. I know that some of you are familiar with the Animorphs series by KA Applegate. Truth be told, most people are, but instead of ever opening up the books, they just kinda... stared at the covers for a while. You know, the ones that had the people turning into animals on 'em. Yeah, they were weird. If you were one of those people, I highly recommend you give the series a try- it's 90s YA fiction at its finest.) Let me get you up to speed. Basically, these aliens- yeerks, we call them, have begun taking over earth. They're slowly taking control of every aspect of human life. But you won't see any flying saucers, vaporizing rays, or little green men- well, if you're lucky. The unfortunate truth is that these yeerks, the awful little slugs that they are, take over the mind of whatever being they can slither their way into. It's disgusting to watch, and I can imagine even more distressing to live through. Anyway, they've ended up here on Earth, locked in a full scale war with an entire other alien race- yet no one knows, except us. We were there the night the ship crashed. The night Visser Three appeared. The night the doomed Andalite prince gave us our powers. Our lives have been like a movie ever since. Aliens, body-snatching, superpowers... it seems fake. Heaven knows I wish it was. But it's not- this is happening, and these yeerks could be anybody: your teachers, the security guard at the mall, your mayor. Your parents. And you would have no clue. I've been told it feels like watching a horrible, horrible, twisted TV show where your body is the star doing everything you despise. You scream and scream, but it's in control. The yeerk has access to all your memories. All your thoughts and feelings too. You can see why this isn't a very good thing. So that's why we have to fight. Our powers allow us to change, physically, into any animal we can get our hands on. Seriously, it's the coolest thing ever. It's awful that we have to use them for such atrocious things, to be honest. But we must. We don't know who we can trust, and we don't know how far we could possibly make it. Truth be told, we don't know much of anything. But we think we found out where these invaders have their homebase, and so far, that's our best bet for finding out how to stop all this. It'll take a lot of will power, guts, and dedication, but that's just what our lives are now. We stand because we must. For the Andalite Prince. For everyone we've ever loved. For Earth. (I'm looking for a group of 2-5 dedicated RPers to do this with! Knowledge of the subject is not necessary, but recommended. I can provide further details upon a PM request. Sorry for the corny intro, but it's my hope that we can stay true to the books' spirit, if we do get this off the ground. Cheesy 90s YA will seriously never get old, I swear :p)
