For 21 years, I have served the Naval Fleet Corps of Marines with utmost loyalty, efficiency, and vigor. The Vernon family has served thus far for four generations, myself being the fourth. My drive to serve was not of familial pressure, but of my own choice, when I stopped picking tobacco and soybeans and took a scholarship to the Aldenhold Naval Academy. Enrolled at 19, I graduated by 23, and was given a rifle platoon first as an Ensign, then a Lieutenant. Now I am a Colonel, commanding the 14th Marine Rifle Regiment, aboard the Heavy Cruiser [i]UNSF Warspite[/i].

A detailed account of my service record is as follows:
[111-1-10] Graduated Aldenhold Naval Academy as an Ensign, given platoon of Co. D, 2nd Bn, 14th Marines.
[113-4-12] Promoted to Lieutenant for good conduct, became XO of Co. D, 2nd Bn, 14th Marines.
[114-2-1] Took part in Operation Safeguard, received Purple Heart for injuries sustained.
