[b]Magic:[/b] Though she hasn't discovered it yet, Xia is capable of Conjuration, the magic of summoning creatures or things.
[b]Personality:[/b] Fairly outgoing and energetic, like any young woman may be. Perky enough to get the job done but sensible enough to ask questions and know when to feel doubt. Xia seems to take a lot of strange things in stride, and her life motto is "Things tend to be what they are", that is to say, no sense in freaking out over weird stuff. Xia hides a deep seated apathy and uncertainty about where her purpose is in life, whether or not she can ever truly achieve anything of notice, and if she's even capable of doing anything impressive beyond simply surviving from the day-to-day. She often worries about being useless yet at the same time has slowly accepted the idea that she is indeed replaceable, if only to numb the pain when it really becomes true. Xia is the type of girl who lies not to trick others but to trick herself.
[b]Background:[/b] Xia is the third child, second daughter, of an average American family. Her parents were immigrants and her siblings were first generation in the states. Her older brother and sister went to good highschools and graduated college within two years. Xia's little sister was very popular and is going to go to the same college as her older siblings. As for Xia, she tried to go to her sibling's highschool but flunked out. Instead she went to an inner city school that had a reputation for troublemakers, as her family couldn't afford to send her anywhere better. Xia managed to avoid a bad crowd but didn't really exceed either, failing to either be so bad that she needed special attention, nor great enough to gain recognition.

In between all the education Xia tried to balance school with work. She had many part time jobs working either at restaurants, cafes, super markets, and occasionally with the family business, but she never stayed for long nor did she do too well. She used to take karate for quite a while, but even then the only notable thing was that she dedicated seven years to it, and even so she was never a good martial artist, just one of the regulars. This life of mediocrity chipped away at Xia's psyche and made her question whether or not it was worth continue to live and eventually die a nobody of little to no renown. So one day while she was coming back from cram school, she spotted a strange phenomenon. Some sort of portal leading to a dark world. Typically, Xia would be careful around such things. But in a moment of weakness she wanted to change her life, or failing that, put an end to the misery. So she walked through the portal, apathetic for what was beyond, on the dreams that it would be a better life one way or another.

[b]Equipment:[/b]
School Uniform - She did just come back from school after all. Comes with glasses and clean underwear.
School Bag - Tough and Stylish! Better then most non-magical carrying cases in this world.
Books and Stuff - Notebooks and textbooks from Xia's old world. Not exactly anything useful in this world unless someone wants to study Calculus. Comes with stationary too.
First-Aid Kit - Has disinfectant, band-aids, and cotton swabs. Don't lose a limb and this ought to be enough.
Cellphone - A smartphone that fortunately has a rechargeable battery, though doesn't get any service around here. Xia's mostly been using it as a camera and flashlight.

This magical longsword has properties that allows it to damage magic, allowing it to harm things like ghost and physically sunder spells and illusions. Somewhat sentient; while it doesn't talk to Xia (yet), it is extremely easy for her to use despite her lack of training, but for anyone else it just feels and acts like a regular longsword.
Crossbow - Relatively easy to use and can kill men in armor.
Dagger - Just in case.
Chain Shirt - About as light and protective as she can get, as leather armor is too weak but actual plate is too cumbersome.
