St. Laurel's is down! There's a healthy amount of intrigue in there for all players involved. I'll edit this post in with the other two factions when I finish them.

St. Laurel's School of Academic Excellence
St. Laurel's has perhaps the longest, and most prestigious history of any high school in the city of Rhea. Named, of course, after St. Laurel, a saint who had been blessed by the Goddess of Victory, and had known only victory throughout his entire life. What they don't tell you of course, is how unfulfilled he was in life. A man who only knew victory, the very man the accolades of victory were named after, didn't feel as if he knew what victory was. St. Laurel disappeared one day, long after the battle against the Ancient Evil was over. The people were confused, and searched for him. But over time, they understood that perhaps he didn't want to be found. Later they elevated his status to that of a Saint, a title typically given after death but who would be able to deny that he was gone? Nowadays the latter half of the story is all but forgotten. Nevertheless, the school which bore his name did also seem to bear his blessing. St. Laurel's has been nigh undefeated for decades, and they now boast the highest population of students as well. Their facilities are top notch, the teachers are paid, and this current generation of students boasts some of the highest potential they've ever seen throughout the entire lifetime of the school itself. But there are rumours, of course. They say in the dark of night, the Ancient Evil stalks the shadows. They never forgot what Laurel had wrought upon them, and we're trying to find a way to destroy his legacy. The school denies such rumours, of course, but regardless those rumours have been spreading with increasing speed. Even with nightly patrols it's impossible to see what lurks behind every shadow, after all. There is also a rumour that St. Laurel still lives, after all this time. A much more fanciful rumour, to be sure, but if there is no evidence of his death, then the possibility remains. Still, there is a time for chasing rumours, and that time is not one month before the tournament of the year. The responsibility to set aside such frivolous ideas in favour of a tangible opponent belongs squarely on the shoulders of the Student Council President; Alto Ganze.

Student Council President

Name Alto Ganze Age: 16 Grade: Second Year, St. Laurel's School of Academic Excellence Biography: Alto Ganze gained the role of Student Council President in his First Year, and has held onto it for the start of this second year. To be the Student Council President of St. Laurel's at such a young age is no small feat. You must be exceptional at all times. You must conduct yourself properly at all times. You must bear the burden of victory on your shoulders at all times. These are the tenets by which Alto has lived by for most of his life. He was raised from birth in this manner, groomed by his family for victory, but victory didn't bring him any joy because it was all he ever knew. Doesn't that sound familiar? Perhaps his story would have ended the same way, were it not for a certain person. In the first tournament of his first year as council president, he lost for the first time, to Clara Deimos Erdrigan, the leader for the tournament for Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined. But more than the defeat, or the person herself, what fascinated him most was the reaction of his parents and St. Laurel's teachers. Rather than blame him for the loss, they simply shook their heads at the other team. The year ended with Alto barely able to claim Victory for St. Laurel's. Not just that, but he'd also gained two rivals.. What this year may hold, he had no idea, but he's looking forward to it. Powers: Child of Light Alto has the blessing of the God of Light as his core power. The blessing itself allows Alto to grow in the dark, and also gives him heightened physical abilities in regards to speed and general flightiness. This makes him an agile fighter who can be hard to pin down. This blessing also gives him access to some other powers.

Blade of Light: This power allows Alto to conjure up a blade of light. The size can be vary from a short-sword to even a full great-sword. Alto can change its size and form freely, and even change its blunt the edge if he feels like it. It has a few more special properties but besides that it acts like a normal sword.
Flash: Alto emits bright flash which can blind opponents for several seconds. It's a simple move, but can be extremely effective. Sunglasses won't completely block the flash, but it'll help somewhat.
God Speed Flash: This skill turns Alto into a being of pure light for a split second, before returning his physical form. During the time it takes for him to turn from light back into a physical body, he moves at extremely high speed and can deliver a strike using the Blade of Light. The initial transformation also emits a flash of light, but it's weaker than a normal Flash.
Relationships:

Clara Deimos Erdrigan - Rivals in some form. Their positions should make them nemeses, but he doesn't see it as such.
King - An enigma, but a worthy rival. Alto is one of the only people who is naturally equipped to fight to him as a fighter with a similar style, for reasons you'll see in King's character sheet.

Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined
Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined isn't officially a school. Officially they're a random group which just so happens to have school in its name, and happen to wear what appears to be school uniforms. Why are they like that? Well, if I told you that schools pay more to enter tournaments and all of the tax fraud their 'principal' Mephisto has been suspected of, you'd probably get the picture. Mephisto's does have a physical location though, and it actually is a school. The school's name is St. Lucifer's School for Peace and Wellbeing, because thatt's much less conspicuous. St. Lucifer's is a public school, although it may just be one so that Mephisto doesn't have to pay taxes on it. He's not the principal of St. Lucifer's, but most of the students know that the actual principal doesn't have any real power. Everything in the school is controlled by the Student Committee. A collection of 'exceptional' students, each member is hand selected by Mephisto himself. The students typically don't complain about this for two reasons. Firstly, most of the students here aren't here because they want to, and secondly the rest of the students here are here because they were placed there. St. Lucifer's has a bad reputation. Not exactly for being bad, but for being mediocre and never participating in tournaments. Perhaps some time ago there was another reason for the latter statement, but as soon as the only students left in St. Lucifer's were those who didn't want to be there, Mephisto moved in. Perhaps he'd been waiting for some time, or perhaps he'd simply engineered events for it to happen. Regardless, he changed the name to St. Lucifer's and some new students started coming in. These students were different, however. They were dangerous. Delinquents, troublemakers, and even borderline psychotics. These students were the ones that made up Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined. To what end does Mephisto gather these students? Well, that's a bit hard to say. Currently he seems set on taking tournaments from St. Laurel's. They'll stoop to any lows they need to, to gain an advantage. They've been suspected multiple times of cheating during tournaments, but they've never been caught. And behind it all is Clara Deimos Erdrigan, the Student Committee's leader, ever by the principal's side.

Committee Leader

Name Clara Deimos Erdrigan, but prefers to not be called by her name. Age 18. Year 3rd Year, Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined. Biography Clara is a strange figure. Normally she is quite cold and calculating, but if she deems something 'worth her time', her passion shows itself and she'll stop at nothing to obtain it. Quite fitting to be leader of the Student Committee. It's unknown what her origins are, but she is currently the daughter of Mephisto himself. It's not likely they are related by blood based solely on appearance, but a link there could still be plausible if Clara herself wasn't so indifferent about it. Regardless of this, she conducts herself as if she has a purpose. She is the Committee's direct line to Mephisto who can be a bit hard to reach sometimes. Sometimes she'll even be able to reach him when it should normally be impossible, and occasionally she'll let on that she knows more about his mind than she has any right to know. If only Mephisto was any less of an enigma than Clara is. Powers The Black Book: Clara's core power manifests itself as a large, metal-bound, black grimoire which she uses to cast spells and summon monsters. The monsters are bound to her will by way of a contract with the grimoire itself. If they defy her will, they lose their life. If the Grimoire is destroyed, they will be destroyed along with it. Clara's other powers help to facilitate these contracts, as well as support her on the battlefield.

Noctis Raptum: Let darkness fill the earth!: This spell allows Clara to cast a magical dome of inky black darkness, which completely blocks all sight within it. Clara is able to see inside, and people on the outside of it cannot see through it. This total darkness also has a limited power to block magical and/or powered sight, but particularly strong abilities can pierce through it.
?????: ??????
Thanatos Adalligare: O, God of Death, observe this contract!: This power allows Clara to summon the God of Death to observe a contract between the Grimoire and another willing party, and bind them to her will. To summon the God of Death, however briefly, is extremely costly and will require Clara to sacrifice a certain amount of wealth, and a fair amount of her own blood. This contract comes with some other limitations. The God of Death does not perform any action other than establishing the contract. The contract must bind the other party to the Grimoire, and it must kill the other party if terms of the contract are breached. The contract must be written with the blood Clara has sacrificed. If the contract is altered against her will or knowledge, the God of Death will take the contract as it is written. The God of Death will remain for no more than 30 seconds, after which the contract and compiled wealth will be taken by the God of Death, as well as the final chance to alter the contract.
Relationships:

Alto Ganze - A nemesis. She sees in him someone similar to herself. Whenever she sees him she becomes filled with hate. She can't wait to tear him down.
King - A true enigma, even more so than herself, and her father. Someone to watch out for, to be sure. Dangerous.
Mephisto - ???

The Vigilantes
The strangeness of The Vigilantes starts and ends with their leader, King. With King out of the equation, they’re almost like a club for extra activities. They take odd jobs from people and complete them, and on occasion they receive bigger requests. Sometimes those requests include closing gates made by the Ancient Evil, and also exorcisms. Why exorcisms? Well, they're base of operations is a small church to begin with. Their first job was an exorcism an old man in the neighbourhood asked them to do. They've been very successful with them though. Ghosts are remnants of the souls of the Ancient Evil. They're able to manipulate them, but it's not as if they have the time to hop into our world to get every single ghost they can get their hands on. Being vengeful spirits who've lost their identity, they're not awfully strong. Still, they can't be hit by normal weapons or powers, so you usually bring in a specialist for these kinds of things. The Vigilantes are usually cheaper, so they'll opt for them most of the time. Gates made by the Ancient Evil? Somehow, The Vigilantes have been able to stumble onto more gates to the Otherworld in their 4 years of existence, than many people see in their lifetime. Closing the gate themselves, while discouraged as far too risky for even high-schoolers, makes up a decent chunk of their income. Personal rewards can be claimed for closing a gate, so sometimes it can become a race between some of the bolder members of the group. The more reasonable or inexperienced members mostly stick to finding lost cats though. To become a member of The Vigilantes is actually fairly easy. They have a website where you can apply to join them or post requests. You can also physically post a request by stapling it onto a message board they have in the church. It's open 24/7, and the priest doesn't refuse anyone. Besides the presence of The Vigilantes, the Church has very little exceptional about it. The only other thing of significance is a small workshop. They've been around for 4 years now, and won a tournament in their second year. In his third year, he clashed with Alto Ganze, and in the fourth year he only participated as a captain and not as a combatant. Their competitors thought it would leave the team much weaker, but boy were they surprised. It was more like they never knew how strong The Vigilantes truly were until King stepped away.

King

Name: King Age: ??? Year: N/A Biography: He appeared one day, during a 1 versus 1 battle, when a particularly angry student from one of the many schools in Rhea challenged him to a duel, after losing his high ranking a few moments prior. What could have gotten the student's attention? Perhaps it was the rather gaudy golden crown on top of his head. Perhaps it was the thick, fur-lined, velvet cape that he wore. Maybe it was the fact that the other man had decided to wear jeans and a plain white t-shirt to match his crown and cape. Or maybe it was just the shades to top it all off. Whatever the case, the two duelled, and the other student was thrashed, without King even having to draw his weapon. An ordinary beginning to a legend, you may say, but there is no record of anyone like King before this point. With black hair and a plain face, there are any number of people that could have gone into a costume store, and walked out as King. However, none of them are King. He claims he came from space, from a galaxy far, far away. His weapon is a sword unlike any other. A beam of pure energy is its blade, an omni-directional weapon that didn't belong in this era. He created The Vigilantes to fight a new calamity which would arrive at an unknown time. An enemy that was not the Ancient Evil, but greater, perhaps. Most dismissed him, of course. Those who joined the The Vigilantes got the impression he was mostly doing it for fun, but occasionally there are moments where he will act with complete and utter conviction, seemingly without a cause. But well, what do you believe? Powers: Free Flight This power is the only power which has been definitively confirmed. This power is a flight power with special properties. It allows King to fly, and is not at all affected by gravity or any other force which would normally affect flight, such as air resistance or wind. King can fly in any position, at any time, at whatever speed he chooses. This power is assumed to be his core ability, but that's more to do with his other abilities than Free Flight itself.

Clairvoyance - King has displayed some level of extra-sensory perception, being able to block strikes from his back. He has only used it once against Alto Ganze during their fight, in which he blocked a strike from behind, without being able to see it. It may also be an explanation as to how The Vigilantes are able to discover so many gates.
Future Craft: Lightsaber - It is assumed that King possesses a skill to create his unique weapon. A hypothesis which seems plausible, since King has been seen going into the church's workshop and coming out with a new weapon, but there are serious doubts as to the particulars because the workshop is only a basic one with basic tools.
Relationships:

Alto Ganze - Rivals. Alto is one of the only people King can fight on each other's terms. He can make the terms equal for most opponents, by giving his opponent a weapon, or not using his weapon, but very rarely can he clash with someone each on their own powers and experience.
Clara Deimos Erdrigan - A thoroughly entertaining person. Interesting to fight, in a different way. Nothing she schemes ever seems to work on him, and he's trying to make her pop a vein one day.
