Name: Diana Artemisia Are you a boy, or a girl?: Girl Age: 27 Personality: Diana Artemisia is the quintessential "smart kid". Cautious and always a step ahead, Diana sought to outperform her peers as she grew up. Growing up with two strict disciplinarians for parents, it's no surprise that she excelled in school as much as she did. Always striving to be the best, always stepping on the competition. That has been Diana's entire life. This doesn't mean she's heartless, though; Diana has a deep fondness for Pokemon, and she is actually very passionate about scholarly pursuits. She gives respect to those she deems worthy of it, and can be very lively despite her rigorous upbringing. Discussing topics she cares for can bring out excitement to the point of where she begins speaking faster than most can understand. Diana has a particular interest in Pokemon genetics, as well as military tactics and history; this has manifested in her having some significant battle prowess. Diana does indulge in some pride, though she knows better than to openly boast to people. Socially speaking, Diana is comfortable with people, though she would secretly rather be tending to her beloved Pokemon. Skills: Wields a Yumi in combat, which is fitted with a Psychic gem that allows her to use ranged Psychic attacks, as well as allowing her to "aim" with her mind; while this takes more concentration, it allows for more deadly accuracy. Social skills from being raised among nobility. Intense studies have given her good knowledge of Johto history. Skill with archery while mounted. History: Diana Artemisia grew up in a house of elite nobility. Her mother had complications giving birth, leaving Diana as her first and last child. As a result, heavy expectations were placed on Diana's shoulders from an early age as the sole heir to her parents' wealth and status. Diana's mother was more of an academic influence, while Diana's father-a general of the Johto army-introduced more military-centric interests in her. Through strict parenting, Diana became a combination of both. She excelled in school, due to the pressure she received from her parents to outshine her peers. When she wasn't studying, Diana was rigorously training under the supervision of her father. Not one for garish fighting up-close, Diana selected the Yumi as her weapon of choice. It allowed her to supervise her terrain more carefully while still damaging her opponent. Honing this skill over many years has given her great skill, increased further by her skill with Psychic-type attacks. When she was 10, Diana's father gave her a gift: her first Pokemon, an Abra (though in the form of an egg). Part of Diana's training regimen became dedicated to caring for the egg. She was so devoted that she even took it to school with her, fearing for what might happen if she let it out of her sight. When the Abra hatched, she gave it the name Imperium, meaning power. While Diana was frustrated at first with her new Abra's lack of strength, some tough love eventually helped it become stronger. Carefully coordinated training helped the Abra evolve into a Kadabra, and eventually an Alakazam (though that came in Diana's adulthood). Upon showing that she was capable of properly tending to and caring for Pokemon, Diana's father gave her two more Pokemon to raise, descended from his own team of Pokemon: a Ghastly (that would eventually become a Gengar) and a Growlithe (that would eventually become an Arcanine). Upon reaching the age of 18, Diana chose to follow in her father's footsteps and enter the military, though not in a typical position. She directly assisted her father, learning from him and his peers in the Johto military leadership. She rose to some prominence after her father retired, earning respect for her ability to balance military prowess and scholarly knowledge. Fiercely loyal to her home kingdom, Diana aims to serve her king as best she can. So when she was told to accompany Prince Hemlock on a conquest of Kanto, she obeyed without question, despite Prince Hemlock's...reputation for instability. Kanto was lazy; their king was on the verge of giving his land to his son, what better time to strike than now? Armed with her yumi, her Pokemon, and her wit, Diana set out to Kanto alongside the Prince and his army. This was her chance to finally exceed her parents' expectations, to cement a little place in history for herself.
