It depends what you mean by nonviolent. Any Drakkan seen as weak (unwilling or unable to fight)  would have been chucked in to the wilds to die. Small Drakkan have then tendency to get mean because they always have to fight to prove they belong. 

Brides are also usually given out like a prize. Not everyone gets one and not everyone gets the same amount. They are spoils of war after all. it is super common for Drakkan to be killed if another Drakkan likes the firsts’ Gem better so that he can take her. This usually happens the night of the ceremony but can happen at other times.

But like,  his personality can be whatever and as along as he is able to fight and seems willing, what ever he actually does is up to you.

For the most part, the domesticated animals were like... horses and dogs that are bigger and meaner. But there was a vague threat of monsters in the wilds. Moral of the story,  you can probably have what ever you want just run your requests by us.
