Biography: Brutus grew up from a middle-class family. Both of his parents are college professors, and so Brutus grew up wanting little. To be honest, he really only had any sort of interest in mastering his powers, which were discovered to be electricity-based at a young age. This made Brutus a volatile child to be around, as he tended to deliver shocks to those kids that upset him. As he grew up, Brutus' temper and volatility lessened. Instead, he adopted a more stoic and aloof personality, to the point of being called cold-hearted. However, this outlook has allowed him to control his power, and excel. This is a bit of a downfall, since he does take some pride in his powers. However, he is also not completely arrogant, and knows that there are plenty out there that are stronger than he. At about the time of his second year at St. Laurel's, Brutus began to notice King and the Vigilantes. By that, Brutus began to notice their actions. While not exactly buying King's full story, Brutus soon realized that there was perhaps a chance of a bigger danger arriving. As such, Brutus joined their ranks, gaining a reputation for doing his jobs and doing them well. Powers: Blue Thunderclap Brutus' core power derives from the blessings of the Goddess of Thunder. This power allows him to freely control electrons in any way, shape, or form. This has also granted him a complete immunity to electricity. He is also able to enhance his bodily abilties with his power, thus increasing his speed and agility. 1. Electro Dart- Brutus is able to fire a dart of electricity at foes. This ability itself doesn't do much to the foes, but is used in tandem with one of his other abilities. Foes hit with this ability are "tagged" 2. Flashfield- Alone, the flash field is capable of diverting slow physical projectiles from Brutus' body. However, if he has tagged a foe, then using his Flashfield sends electricity flowing directly into the foe's body, shocking them. However, he can only use this ability for no more than 20 seconds before overheating, and being unable to use his powers for a brief period. 3. Electrosphere- Brutus covers his body in a sphere of bright blue electricity. Contact with this sphere causes massive damage to foes, but rapidly drains Brutus of energy. Another drawback is that the range of the sphere is short, being only 1 meter in diameter. 4. Electric Dispersion- An ability that Brutus perfected shortly after the tournament that allows him to disperse his body into pure electricity. This can be used to evade most attacks, as well as being able to be used to shock any foes that approach. However, using this ability is similar to using his Flashfield, which means that he can short himself out and be unable to use his powers for a short period of time if overused. 5. Thunderstrike- Brutus gathers electrical energy within himself, drawing from outside sources when necessary. Once he has enough charge stored, he unleashes a massive blast of electricity in front of himself, launching it like a railgun. This a last-ditch move, as this will leave Brutus drained unless his powers have been boosted by an ally. This is the technique that he has been working on since the apartment fiasco. Relationships:
St. Laurel's
Alto Ganze- Brutus had few encounters with Alto, as he only stayed at St. Laurel's for a couple of weeks during his second year before joining the Vigilantes. Brutus respects his power, as well as his academic prowess. Rest TBD
Mephisto's
Clara Deimos Erdrigan- Brutus has never had the (mis)fortune of encountering Clara, and thus only knows her by her reputation. He has since reached the conclusion that he'd rather put of meeting her as long as possible. Bak Tsarevna-Brutus has only encountered Bak once, during a tournament just before he joined the Vigilantes. Brutus respects Bak's power. While he finds her a bit simple-minded, he is aware that she is a dangerous foe and not to be underestimated. Zap with extreme prejudice if fighting her. Why? Missiles hurt, especially when taken to the face. Rest TBD
Vigilantes
King- While a bit skeptical of King's true origins, Brutus respects King enough to know that there is likely some truth to what he claims. Thus, Brutus has put forth his effort to aiding the Vigilantes, even if he finds his leader a bit distant. Then again, he himself is a bit aloof as well, so he really can't complain. Ria Köhler: Brutus, if he's honest, is put-off by her whole attitude and outlook on life. Sure, he doesn't like to get close to others, but he also doesn't actively push them away. Due to this, Brutus tends to avoid interacting with her more than necessary. Michael Angie: Brutus has not worked with Michael much, but knows a bit about his powers. He finds his ability interesting, and is curious as to the limits of it. Zachary Smith: While initially creeped out by Zachary's power, Brutus now finds him a valuable ally to have in a time of potential danger. Melanie Hennar- Brutus sees Melanie as a sort of friendly rival. The two have worked on a few missions together before. Despite each preferring to do things their own way, they do end up working well together.
