Depending on where she lives in the district, Anya might still have needed to go to the transit station though. It's like living in a large city, you'd need to get around within the city as well as travelling to others, and the transit station would be both a hub for the intracity and intercity rail links.

They also make for useful meeting locations, since everyone would have a reason to be passing through the station at some point, and if two people just happen to be at the same location at the same time there's very little chance that someone else could prove collusion in their meeting.
