It Takes Two...

February, the month of love, of heartfelt sentiments between couples. What better prompt than one where authors work together to create enrapturing literature? Obviously these writers needn't be lovers themselves, and neither must the entities within their entries. Indeed, there exists love beyond romantic(though romantic love is not out of the question!). Siblings, brothers in arms, even mere friends sharing ale together and reminiscing of times past. It is time to show how deep an emotional connection can run between people, to show how they tick and what makes them work together so well.

Contest Rules
1. This prompt is very character-centric. Write with an emphasis on interaction, and the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Show why these people stick with each other through the thick and the thin of life, and how well they synergize. 2. The maximum and minimum author count is two. Not a one more or less. The character count, however, can be more than just two. 3. The word-count ceiling is 7000 words. Slight(hundred words or so) deviations will not entail disqualification. Please keep entries above 2000 words. 4. Please title your entries! 5. Confirmation from both authors must be shown that the other contributed in some way(wrote sections of the entry, proofread and edited, etc.). At the top of the entry should be the names of the two authors. One person should post the entry, and then the other author should post afterwards confirming the description of the division of labor.
Grounds for disqualification
1. Plagiarism. 2. Your entry having no clear connection to the prompt. 3. Gratuitous violence or gore. 4. Explicit sex scenes. Fade to black is fine. 5. Word count being far beyond the maximum or far below the minimum.
Please submit your entry here in the Prompt and Entries thread by Monday, March 5th. Direct all questions and feedback to my PM box, and I will gladly answer them. Please hold off all votes and critiques until the proper thread has been erected for this prompt.
Special thanks to...
[@BrokenPromise] for their suggestion for this month's Main Contest prompt. I had many ideas myself, but theirs just seemed to fit the occasion more! Also thanks to everyone that has provided feedback on the Contests themselves!
