Gil is 5’10” and has the build of a swordfighter. He’s lean, lithe and muscular, making him extremely agile, even in full plate armor. He has short brown hair, which he has recently refrained from cutting and typically grows his beard for two months before shaving it again. He bares a few scars from his days as a mercenary but his worst are three claw marks on his left arm, which he received from a duel with a deadly dragonborn assassin. 
	Gil is also somewhat of an anomaly considering he’s a lefthanded fencer and carries his shield on his right arm.

Personality:
Gilead is a fun-loving, sarcastic kid. He tends to make friends with everyone he meets, however, his friendliness should not be mistaken for naivety. He knows when to take a situation seriously and he should never be underestimated.

History:
Gilead was born in a small village in the West. His father, a human, was a Scout in the local lord’s militia while his elven mother was the handmaiden to the Lord’s wife, hence Gilead’s notable sense of propriety. His mother was also a dabbler in Magic, teaching Gil some of her skills, while his father was teaching him swordplay.
Plague took both of Gil’s parents when he was 13. At this point, he became a wanderer, honing his skills and taking odd jobs, until a mercenary band found him. He stayed with them for five years, learning from them and fighting with them. He made somewhat of a reputation for himself as one of the most deadly and fierce fighters of the last century. It was this reputation that drew the attention of the Inquisition to him.
An Elven Inquisitor by the name of Veron, saw Gilead in action as Gilead singlehandedly slew a group of 10 bandits, who were assaulting a woman on the road. Veron told Gilead how the Inquisition could use men like him, and to Gil, the Blight was just another plague, except this one, he could actually fight.
After two years with the Inquisition, Gil is one of the newest members and the mission to the City of Ash is his first real taste of field action without his mentor, Veron. However, he hopes that his skills and experience will allow him to rise through the ranks quickly and not get himself or anyone else killed.

Armor: Gil’s armor consists of gambeson, padded chausses, an arming cap, a chainmail hauberk and coif, and blackened steel plate cuirass, pauldrons, bracers, greaves and a visored barbute helmet.
