[hr][/center]	Nora felt the chill of disappointment and resignation flood her system as the officer dismissed them without even truly listening. She had given an able explanation of the mathematical intrigue behind the site, one that she was confident even the uneducated layperson could understand. She was certain that it wasn't an intellectual barrier that was in her path, but a societal one. Her dissatisfaction with society had led her to self imposed isolation and resignation at this point. Yet she felt those feelings turn from dejection to frustration and drive, with Lady Munn acting as the catalyst as she prevented the window from closing. 

	She stared the man down as Lady Munn spoke her piece this time, before positively beaming as they received the permit. She had never felt this empowered before. Had she been alone, she would have simply left and gone home, working on whatever math problem she had selected for amusement. Yet here was proof that her gender did not have to be a limitation - that the society constructions were not all inhibiting. Despite the annoyance and frustration the man caused, Nora had never quite felt so satisfied with life. Her hope had been restored. 

	[color=00ccff]"Well done, Lady Munn,"[/color] Nora said earnestly. [color=00ccff]"You have my compliments - I must confess I thought our efforts had been futile after his clear rejection, but you...That was a remarkable display."[/color] And with the permit, she imagined they had already overcome the largest of their hurdles. She recalled the matter of finances for the expedition had already been sorted. And with this renewed vigor and confidence, she no longer felt obligated to seek her father's approval. If he was cross with her for going on the expedition, so be it.
