Nenetl
One year has passed after Nenetl woke up. Even for her, the shock was rather big. Everything she once knew was no more. Nothing more than memories of an age long past... In one year, she had already passed by other cities, but she couldn't help but feel amazed by the city of Luce Prima. "Live... Grow and thrive..." Nenetl repeated the words she heard from the scholars as she got out of the room that the scholars assigned for her. Even though the scholars had shown her room, she wasn't really that interested in it. Nenetl honestly only needed somewhere to sleep. She appreciated it, of course, but honestly it was just more than enough for her. As she made her way to the center of the town, it got even more livelier than before. Some people trying to sell their wares, others buying or simply looking at them... And as Nenetl passed, many, if not all of them were looking at her. Unfazed by the curious stares, Nenetl walked through the marketplace, with curious eyes, looking at the wares, the people, hearing what they had to say. There were simply too many different types of creatures there, so many it was fascinating for her. Not only that, but that city also had an unusually abundant flow of magic. She could feel that the membrane that separated the spiritual world to the material world was much thinner there. "...memories..." Nenetl muttered to herself as she closed her eyes, feeling a breeze passing through her hair, fluttering the feathers that decorated it. Bittersweet memories of her life before she died flooded her mind. Even though the world she knew was long gone, she would fulfill her duties. She was the last one of the Aztec shamans. She held a knowledge that was now lost through the ages, she was the only one who could do what the other shamans failed to do. But it didn't matter how much she thought about it, she couldn't change the past. That Nenetl died that day. Buried together with her shame, her negligence and the mistakes she made... Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes, continuing walking through the marketplace. A lot of things about the modern world were still a mystery to Nenetl and she greatly enjoyed watching those things and trying to understand them. Even though she had lost everything, including her life, she was given another chance. Wasting it or not living her life to the fullest would be an insult to Tonatiuh and as such, even though she was clearly the center of the attentions, even though she was basically a live relic of a forgotten time, she kept with that same serene smile on her face. But before she could continue, a certain word she heard caught her attention. Just a few meters away from her, an elf boy tried to sell his wares. Medicines, poisons and herbs, but the word that caught her attention wasn't any one of those, instead, it was a word that a man said as he approached the elf. "My sincerest apologies, where did we leave off?" The elf boy said to the man, after a brief interruption from a woman looking for medicine for her son. Getting closer to both of them, Nenetl gently touched the elf boy's shoulder from behind him. "You were going to sell me some coffee too." She replied as if the boy was talking to her, with a kind smile and a chuckle. While initially, her exotic appearance might be a bit surprising, her calm expression and eyes were clear indications that she meant no harm. "I'm sorry, coffee is totally my weak spot." Nenetl said, looking to the elf and the man near him with a chuckle. But the second she looked at the man, she felt something strange on him. For a brief moment, she looked at him with a serious expression in a strange way. It wasn't like she was looking at his clothes or his eyes, but almost like if she was looking right through him, searching for something that wasn't there. After a brief moment, she blinked, her expression going back to the same serene smile she had previously, looking to both the man and the elf boy. She didn't say anything, but the way she looked at him made clear that she knew exactly what he was, but instead of reacting in a different way, she simply continued, almost like if she was already accustomed to that.
