	Kuki grew up in Prìseil Aldentine. She was orphaned three years after her birth and was raised by her uncle. She had an older sister who was of reaping age when her parents were killed. Her parents thought it was a good idea to fight with the Drakkan and try to prevent them from taking their daughter. After her parents died, Kuki went to live with her uncle. The only other option were her grandparents, who live WAAYYY up north (and since three year old Kuki wasn't traveling that far, she stayed with her uncle). 
	Kuki wasn't a difficult child growing up. She wasn't loud or unruly, she would just space off sometimes and go into her own little world. Kuki was never interested in things that her uncle thought were practical such as learning to cook or clean. She didn't really enjoy going outside either. She would always be reading a book or painting or just looking out the window at nature. This would annoy her uncle and while he never did anything rash, he would always say things like "Why don't you want to walk around town like normal girls?" or "I really wish you would get to know some other gems your age. It would do you good to get outside more often."
	Kuki's uncle didn't hate her, but he clearly favored his two sons over her. He wouldn't spend much time with her (which she didn't mind), and whenever he went away for business he would bring back cooler things for his sons than her, if he even did bring her back something. Kuki was always kind and had a positive outlook on life. She always had a smile on her face and everyone that knew her would describe her as a nice, caring girl.
	Even though she had watched her sister and several other girls from the town get taken, Kuki never really understood the reaping. Only once she herself was taken did she truly understand it. One day, the town council summoned all the girls in town to the town square. By the time she got there, all the other girls were gathered in a line in front of a pair of Drakkan reapers. Kuki was quickly pushed into line. The reapers took their time to get a look at all the girls. They looked every girl up and down several times, then finally one of them pointed at Kuki and said, "You." He grabbed Kuki and threw her in a cart. She would've fought back if she had understood what was happening and wasn't so surprised.

Kuki is quiet and doesn’t talk much, but when she does, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. If she doesn’t like something or feels that something is wrong, she’ll outright say it.
