-Sewing: She can sew a number of different fabrics from leather to satin (However lace gives her problems)
-Fact relocation: Aka she can spot a creature and spit out facts about them. She can also be triggered by questions or words that relate to the facts she knows.
-Tracking: She can look at tracks and not only know what they came from (if she has studied that creature) but also figure out where they went
-Anatomy: Being that she has dissected many a monster she knows what a lot of them are like on the inside she has an advantage for if she has to fight them or if she is with someone better than her at fighting she can inform them of weak points
-Climbing: Surprisingly she is quite good at climbing, and will use it as a defense.
-Bow and arrow: Thanks to her father she has pretty decent marksmanship skills


Equipment: This is what your character has. Be reasonable with how much you take and I'd recommend a theme such as long ranged fighter, close ranged slugger, etc.
-Handmade suit: She created a suit of armor from the hides of monsters and modified it with claws for protection from the very things that she is studying

-Skinning knives: Extremely sharp knives designed for taking away hide from flesh without resulting in too much damage
-Rope: a 20ft rope she keeps coiled up
-backpack with more equipment: this holds the rope along with things to aid in sample collection and writing down notes
-The Swiftwind: A compound bow given to her by her ranger father that she pairs with a hip quiver...allowing for more ability to hold things on her back and faster loading. The bow itself is rather complex and meant to have enough power behind it to take down larger monsters...or at least slow them down. Paired with a sniper type attachment, she is prepared to defend herself with it.

Appearance: 
Castan is small at 5 ft and rather pixie looking. Her softer features make her appear younger than she is and her rather large golden hazel eyes give her a rather pixie appearance. She has more of a pair shape with her lower half holding more weight then her upper half and seems fit in a lean way. Her hair is a bright red and she keeps it short to keep out of the way when she researches.

Background:
Castan was born to a ranger and a monster hunter both well known for their work. Raised amongst hunting and research led to a knowledge of the beasts that occupied the outside world in both how to kill them and how to use them.  Her parents were not particularly cold to her, just busy. Often the time she would get with them was mainly when her mother was working and her father could both watch her and tell her all of his stories leading to a fascination with the creatures. 

As Castan grew older she decided on the path of a monster biologist. This resulted in her going from her being watched to watching her mother work. Learning more about how to study the animals that were brought in for her mother to inspect.  Often the monsters her father brought in were already dead and the goal was to inspect them for weak points, how to kill them better. 

At the age of 18 she was assigned to go beyond the wall with her mother, to see what they could find in how to deal with the monsters and this is when her father was killed. Castan remembers it as a blur, a monster appearing suddenly and while her father and the rest of the team took it on she and her mother ran as they were not suited for fighting and their knowledge was valuable. Most of the team made it back, but her father did not. Her mother quit her research that week and collapsed into grief leaving Castan to practice her archery with the last gift she had received from her father and wonder just what would have happened if her father had had a better form of defense. She wanted to make something that would ensure something like that never happened again. 

2 years ago she had her chance. With the excuse of starting up her mother’s research, she was able to gain access to different corpses of animals and create her first monster suit. Seeing its completion and marveling at its effectiveness she could not help but decide to keep it for herself and keep it a secret, rather she made it more understood that she wanted to copy the properties of the monsters...not steal their flesh. 

Castan’s knowledge and research are what caught the attention of a few teams. She was not the weakest monster biologist and her goals would benefit a team...let alone if she could actually create her plans of suits that used similar builds to the monsters they faced.

Wish:To understand monsters enough to help humanity or herself by using them.

Trauma: Castan’s father died protecting her mother and herself when a monster attacked. She had been on that trip as an apprentice to her mother and the resulting attack left her wanting to make better defenses against monsters.
