Men of war
As the apocalyptic fury of thunder continues to ravages the lands of Titania the armies of man stand face to face as the beginning of a battle to decide the fate of man dawns every closer. As the storms of change continues to tear away the earth rows of iron clad men stand ready side by side. The heavy rain softening the ground around the numerous armies that marched in to fight. Numerous lords answer the call of ambition. God, fame, gold, and power all were on the line for the sacred capital of Kiltin was under siege. The smoke of powder, lingers in the air as the gunners man their position, peeking and aiming from the safety of their gun emplacements. Citizen cower behind the comfort of their homes as the siege continues on. “They’re going to starve us out at this rate.” One of the gunners complaint as he takes a bite from what seems to be slate bread soaking wet. “Losing of the port city Numeria made the situation all better for the damn traitors, cutting out our food supplies and blockading our ports.” He continues to rant angry with his recent living condition adding a subtle hint if sarcasm to the mix. “And there just there enjoying themselves like there on a damn picnic.” Another points out as he points at the various lights and numerous supply convoys with them. “The empire practically dead at this point.” Another comment taking a big bite from his bread. The rain still pouring hard making it close to impossible to keep the powder dry weren’t it for the built in roof on top of them. Soon, after a young officer enters the room cowered from head to toe with water, with the rain doing a number on her attire. “Can’t believe that their still out there with this rain.” He comments as the three gunners quickly dragged whatever cloth they can to dry him up. “Thanks about that.” He thanks to the three. “I swear the cold the one that’s going to calm me if this keeps up.” He comments with the usual calm and carefree attitude he shown. The three grabbed so cloth and gathered around in a circle and distancing themselves from the powder to make sure that they don’t blow themselves up. After making sure and tasking each other their assign turns to take guard while the others keep themselves from freezing. “It’s been days since the rain started and it won’t stop.” The one of them starts as the flames slowly get stronger and bigger. “Every, since we lost a large chunk of our cities to the pillars, everything gone bad for the empire.” He continues as he offers a small piece of the cloth to the fire. “Just think of them as a new dragon.” He suggests. “If the ballista’s can’t do it, let our guns deal with it. “He continues as the shift of the first guard was over, switching and urges the other to take his place. “Still its fine raining and I can barely hear a thing with this insane downpour.” The guardsman complaints as he warms up by the fire. “The field died off, and everywhere a mess, muck and mud all around us and them. “TAKE COVER!” The one on shift screams out as he dives into the floor as massive chunks of rocks crashes onto and into the walls, hitting one of the gun emplacement destroying the artillery and its crew men. The officer and the crew rushes to their gun and starts readying to fire back at the enemy. “WHAT HAPPENED WHY DIDN’T WE SEE IT COMING!?” The officer shouts out as five large fireballs makes their way to the parts of the way. The fortunately the gun has just been reloaded and the crew aims at the fire ball coming start into them. The cannonball flies straight into the fireball dispelling it and landing into the enemy army. The castle walls retaliated as gunners inside the walls fired from their small encloses peeks. But, one of the fireballs got into one of the powder and blasts a huge clunk of the walls in one go. The draw bridges still up the attackers had no choose but, to climb up into the ladder. Still the wet landscape proved too much for the attackers as they gotten stuck and locked in place. But, the army was determined, their morale high and their resolves unfaltering. They were there to gain victory and nothing less. An iron clad woman steps in, with a spear in hand and a shield in the other, her trebuchets fire constantly onto the ways while her mages snipe the powder kegs to blast away the walls, paying no heed to the safety of the fire way as they become cannon fodder to both the trebuchet, the enemy, and friendly fire. The queen stands and watches as the night sky changes into an emerald sky. As the city burns, the walls crumble and the way paved with blood. “Warrior queen the defenses inside the city are formidable…” One of the advisors advises but, was cut off immediately. “Burn them out.” She coldly says before her advisors and generals silently nods in agreement leaving and informing the army of her orders. The defenders held on as long as they can but, in five days’ time there was no more left to defend. The city lies in ruins, its inhabitants captured or buried, and the royal family dragged before the queen. “HOW DARE YOU LAY WASTE TO MY CITY!” The king yells out in fury. The queen urges the guards to get the daughters and the queen out of her chambers. She stares at him as she tosses him his shield and sword. She sits down on her wooden throne as she stares at the pathetic old man and his next set of moves. The man hurries up and grabs his sword, rushing to her and swings with all his got. But, she doesn’t make a move as the blade makes its way up to her. Only stopping inches before chopping her head. She doesn’t do anything and lets the man carry on as he swings furiously at her with all his might, clipping away her shield as she continues to watch him make no progress in the next few set of hours. After a while the man exhausted falls to the floor, covered in sweat and dirt. The queen stands and stares at him through her thick and lifeless helmet. She raises her foot and steps on the man’s neck robbing him of its vital air. He tries to get her foot from his neck but, fails leaving him at the mercy of the queen which she raises her armored boots allowing him to breathe once more. Only to clamped down on it once again in a sadistic sense act to make him suffer as long as she can. After hours of “Playing” She ends it as she breaks his neck ending his rule and his life for good. She drags the king outside displaying his lifeless body for all to see. Making her men cheer out as loud as they can. “LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! LONG LIVE THE WRATHOS EMPIRE!!” They cry out as they bang their weapons with their shields. The city now in ruins the empress makes ready for her plans for her next conquest. The plans to invade the world of the world eaters. The queen and her daughters ride on the queen’s carriage. Her face shouted in darkness as her masks hides in as she stares at them, eyeing them up and gauging them. Showing quite a fancy with her as she fixes her eyes on her which makes the princess worried and scared. As her admirer stares at her without saying a word.
