Description- Val has short black hair, a long grim face and piercing grey eyes. He is not a handsome man, but not extremely ugly either. Upon his face sits a short black beard and a several faded scars that mar his visage. He is of average height, and built like a bull. Gender- Male Race- Human Age- 36 Personality- Val is an interesting man. Where one would see a charming individual, others would see a man with arrogance. He is a very by-the-books person and will not go against orders or doctrines even if his life depended upon it. His love for the Empire has been entrenched in very soul since his time at the Templar's and his devotion for the Emperor knows no bounds. He is very much a slave in this regard. Yet he cares little for the common folk and despises those that don't have a place in society. If you can't serve the Empire, then what use are you? Backstory- He was born the youngest of seven children to farmers near Eastgate. Growing up the youngest of seven children was a hardship unto itself, if it wasn't the horsing around with his brothers then it was his mother or father yelling at him to get his chores done. As an older child he began to think that a farmers life just wasn't for him. He found it boring and tedious work with little time for adventure or fun. Still, his family tried to beat into him the fine principles of a farmers life but he never really cared enough for anything to stick. He quickly became the black sheep in the family, avoiding work and sneaking off to look at Eastgate at night. The grand gate quickly became a dream of his, that one day he could go up top and gaze over the land. Perhaps one day would come and he would get to see it, but not now. Years went by as Val struggled deciding who he really wanted to be in life. Animosity grew between him and his aging father as they frequently butted heads over work and money. One day in his eighteenth winter, Val's life changed forever. After a heated dicussion with his father in the barn, Val grew angry and this anger lashed out in the form of magic. Needless to say the barn burned down, no one died but Val was sent away. His mother contacted the Imperial Academy and not long after Val was taken away to began training his abilities. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but Val found himself smiling. Finally, after years he had found his way out of farming by pure accident. His family wasn't known for any sort of magical potential whatsoever, but it shocked Val. Perhaps at IAM he could find himself, meet people similar to him and even make friends, but Val couldn't have been more wrong. A vast majority of his peers were the sons and daughters of the nobility and they hated him for what he had and he never really got along with any of them. Val was seen a little more then a glorified servant, and was usually the object of mockery. Whatever hopes he had at a different life being better, he was quickly disappointed. Soon after this revelation, Val tried to ignore such comments and slowly work on his magical abilities. It was a struggle for Val the first couple of years, magic would not come easily to him as others but after the third year he began to control it. After this control was established he was found to have a great potential, he just needed the proper guidance and practice. Usually one would serve at IAM for five years, but Val decided to stay an additional five. He did not want to go back home, there was nothing for him there anymore. After his seventh year, the Templar Order of Arcanum took interest in abilities and he was taken away by them. IAM purged their records of him, and sent a letter home telling his family he had died in a training accident. He would never be seen again by anyone he once knew. Little is known what happens to those taken by the Templar's but rumors indicate they are among the most devote warriors throughout the Empire and their loyalty to the Emperor is absolute. And now, the Templar Order has assigned Val to oversee the group headed to the Ebony Mountain, and defeat the Scorn once and for all. Magical abilities- Fire, and Warding magic. Combat abilities- Sword Mastery, Enhanced Stamina, and Enhanced Strength. Artifact of Dramoria- The Sun Sword, Sanctity. A longsword, etched with glyphs and gilded with gold on the hilt. The pommel is a ruby wrapped in the visage of Solus. Once wielded by Dramoria himself, the sun sword is depicted throughout the Empire on the statues of Dramoria. However, its true power has long been forgotten. The sword has a natural affinity for that which is holy, and burns away the corrupt and unjust. Those who have a heart unworthy will themselves be burned. Motive- To serve the Emperor and Empire, at all costs. [/hider]
