Her parents knew it well. They wouldn't allow Pale to grow up as a slave. They couldn't. Her parents escaped with the newborn Pale. Even if they died, their child couldn't be brought up in a world of suffering. However, like most other escapes, her parents had been tracked down by a bounty hunter. A death sentence given on a desolate road. Her parents slain and set on fire. It would only be natural that Pale would burn in that fire.

But she lived.

The hunter was not a bad man. He hadn't known about the child. He had only thought he was off to kill (or bring back, had they not resisted) runaway slaves. Upon hearing Pale's cries, the bounty hunter dove into the fire to save her. Out of guilt, the man decided to raise her. He taught her how to fight and, after Pale had shown some aptitude with magic, his very own magic. However, Pale was always going to be isolated. She was covered in burn scars.

The bounty hunter had considered Pale his own child, but the bounty hunter couldn't care for Pale forever. He lived dangerously. When she had turned 15, he had given her an iron mask. It wouldn't be a perfect solution. It was enough for Pale to live on her own.

But a life of solitude was always for Pale. She became nothing more than a wanderer, seeking out tombs to make money off of. But this life was perfect for Pale. She felt nothing but joy. By the end of her adventuring, she had become apt at fighting and had a plethora of knowledge at her disposal.

When the king called for aid, Pale quickly went to volunteer. After all, she loved the world. The thought of a boring land where nothing existed besides the Scorned was something Pale hated.[/INDENT][/INDENT]
