Oh no your entire house burned down, your family is dead, and you were a slave for a while, but you don't really have PTSD and you are gorgeous and everyone loves you? Oh. And you're the chosen one too? Yeah. No. None of that. I don't mind tropes because tropes happen. I have more than I should in the plot of this RP alone. But what I don't appreciate is the perfect person with the tragic backstory and all the powers. Also, no edgelords. Just. Take your dark lifestyle and emo haircut elsewhere.

⚜️ No Meta Knowledge/God Modding. If you know something that your character doesn't know, don't let them know it. Do not control other people's characters without asking. Do not auto-hit, or make an action that avoids all consequences. Be mindful of the things you do, and if you have a question, you can always ask.

⚜️ The quality of your posts should be readable, flow well, and not have any jilted action or dialogue that doesn't make any sense to the context of the RP. A few typos are fine. I'm bound to make mistakes as well. Hell, I'm known for posting drunk sometimes. Probably drunk now. But please bring your best quality to the table. As far as quantity goes, just make sure your post covers what needs to be covered. No need to get too long, and definitely don't get too short. An RP buddy once said: "like a skirt: short enough to be enticing but long enough to cover all the important parts."

⚜️ Romance is fine, I actually encourage building bonds with your fellow characters, but no smut.

⚜️ If you have any questions. ANY AT ALL. Please do not hesitate to contact me or someone else on the staff (assuming I get a staff). There are no stupid questions. Well, there are, but I highly doubt you'll be asking "What are butts?" "How... cat?" "Do I need to type for this RP?" 

⚜️  You have three days to respond once it hits your turn. I'm not saying you have to respond every three days, but that you need to respond within three days when it's your turn to post. Let me know if you cannot get a response in, and you will be skipped. If you fail to let me know, you're allowed three turns of unresponsiveness, before your character is removed (probably violently) from the scene. If you do let me know, you're allowed five consecutive turns before you're removed from the scene (non-violently, as you were polite.)

⚜️  Please let me know when you are too busy to RP. I get it. I have a life, job, responsibilities, etc. So, if you are having a rough week, month, or whatever, let me know. I am more than happy to work with you.

⚜️ When performing an action, do not write what comes after it. For instance: you shoot at a villain. Please don't say it kills them. I'm the one that decides that. Or that you are hacking a system and are successful. Once again, it's up for me to decide that. That being said, if it stunts your post, you can always ask me in the OOC or PM (I don’t recommend the discord chat). I understand not wanting to have a very short post where nothing is done. Think of this as playing DnD or the like. I'm the DM, I tell you when things are successful.

⚜️ Do not argue with me about the result. There's either a) a story reason you can't do this b) whatever you're doing something to is more powerful c) you don't have the skills for it (i.e. you have a strength of 4 and are attempting to pick up a car.) I have reasons for doing what I'm doing. I assure you. I'm not doing it to make you look bad. Also place a little fleur-de-lise somewhere in your sheet so I know you've read and accepted this.

⚜️  As always, perform actions and participate in dialogue in a way that makes sense for your character. If you are acting inconsistent with your character, I will call you out on it. I understand there's character growth, or you figure that this character's funnier than you first anticipated, but there's also creating a pacifist and having him murder 10 people without consequence. Seriously. I've seen this shit.

[indent]⚜️Here is your CS and a not-so-brief guideline on how to fill it out. When finished with your CS, please place it in the OOC. You’re only allowed to place it in the “Characters” tab if/when you’re accepted.
[hider=Character Creation Guildeline]⚜️ When creating your character, think of them as an NPC with dialogue in terms of power level. You are not the Vault Dweller, the Chosen One, the Lone Wanderer, the Courier, or the Lone Survivor. You’re barely even a companion. Sure, you might hand out a quest, or be intrinsic in the beginning levels of the game, but you are NOT the end all. You are an average person with a few profitable abilities.

⚜️ Now, I worry what you just heard is: “make a boring ass character.” What I said was, “don’t make the protagonist of a video game.” You can make your character as weird or bland (within reason) as you want. This is Fallout, not milquetoast land.

⚜️ And as much as I hate to do this: your character can have no tie ins to canonical characters within the games OR factions. No being the long-lost brother of the Chosen One or bffs with the Lone Wanderer. Don’t tie your characters into smaller characters either. I’ve chosen to do this to make sure that our little bubble is preserved so that newer players or people who have never played aren’t confused and/or spoiled. Failure to do this will lead to me not accepting your CS.

⚜️ [b]NAME, GENDER, and AGE[/b] are up to your discretion. Do note, no characters under the age of 18. The governor would not employ children for his job.

⚜️ [b]SPECIES[/b]
[list][*][u]Humans & Ghouls:[/u] Fine and acceptable.
[*][u]Supermutant:[/u] I’m rather remiss to accept this species, as there are very few intelligent supermutants and the governor would be slow on hiring one for very special escort mission. That being said, I [i]can[/i] be convinced with a CS that justifies and rationalizes the character and isn’t all “ROAR SMASH BLWERWEGWY!”
[*][u]Synths:[/u] My problem with this species is that it has no story prevalence in this setting. Louisiana doesn’t know or care about them. I’m not saying you can’t be one, but don’t expect it to have the importance it did in FO4. It’s also mildly problematic that you’re playing a human(+) without the disadvantage of appearing different. Though, I encourage you, if you do want a synth to make it an older model--ala Valentine. Having something obviously physical about them that is uncanny would improve your roleplay experience, and it would also make me feel better. But if you want a fully functioning, completely hidden synth--feel free to write “human” as your species and include that they’re a synth in their bio. And I’m not saying this isn’t allowed, just don’t abuse it. Make a good CS, and I’ll not care.
[*][u]Robots:[/u] Mister Handy, Mister Gutsy, Miss Nanny, and Robobrains are probably the only autonomous--enough--robot to be in a game like this. I’ll accept them. Please don’t make your own robots or make a special Sentry robot that is autonomous. Stick to the lore.[/list]

⚜️ [b]HOMETOWN[/b] can be one of the few cities I mentioned. The more complicated one would be the Big Easy, but as long as you have a decent reason to be from there. You can also make up your own city. It can be a legit city in Louisiana, or you can make up your own town. You can also come from somewhere else, but please keep in mind travel time. If you do end up making your own town, write a blurb for it, and after/if you’re accepted I’ll add it to the lore.

⚜️ No characters who are part of canonical [b]FACTIONS[/b]. No Brotherhood of Steel members, you are a mercenary for hire without a steady career, or you wouldn’t be here. The Enclave hasn’t settled here… or have they? And Louisiana is so far removed from the other factions from the other games, that they have no reason to be here.

⚜️ You can make up your own [b]FACTION[/b]. You can be factionless. These things are fine.Just avoid making an OP faction, or making your character have zero ties. This is Fallout. Even the bugs are deadly. If you do end up making your own, write a blurb for it, and after/if you’re accepted I’ll add it to the lore.

⚜️ Your [b]APPEARANCE[/b] can be an illustration, photograph (as long as it is true to the setting), or just a description. I’m not accepting animu images or obvious selfies. That being said, even if you use an image, I still ask that you write an appearance. It is so much more than blond hair, blue eyes, six pack, handsome for daayyyyss. It’s how they stand. It’s how they position their face. It’s their attitude. It’s how you can see a bit of a history in their stance. This is your chance to crawl into your character's skin and decide their demeanor. I expect to be able to fully visualize them from this.

⚜️ You know what I hate writing about? [b]PERSONALITY[/b]! Because usually what I put to paper ends up being a little skewed when I RP. So. I ask that you fill this personality test out, [url=https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test]CLICK[/url]. Answer it AS your character. I asked you to get under their skin, now I ask that you get into their brain and figure out how they would respond to these questions. Place your answer where it states in the CS. In the next portion, write how a person describes interacting with your character. You’ve got an idea of them, now how do they present themselves to others. Please let this be only a few sentences long. Do not contradict yourself.

⚜️[b]SPECIAL[/b] is an acronym for your Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. You have 40 points to distribute with a low of 1 and a high of 10. Below is a point break down:
[list][*][u]1:[/u] You have a crippling disability of some sort that doesn’t allow you to participate at all in this skill. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] Your character is blind, and so they’ve taken a massive hit to their Perception.
[*][u]2:[/u] While not impossible there is something impeding you from ever improving this stat. You’re not crippled but you’re not getting better. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] As a young adventurer you took an arrow to the knee and have a permanent limp, and so they’ve taken a hit to Agility.
[*][u]3-4:[/u] You haven’t kept up with this skill and let it fall to the wayside. It could eventually get better, but only with hardwork and practice. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] Your character has a sensitive stomach, and so you’ve taken a hit to Endurance. That being said they could harden up in the length of a journey or take to more exotic foods.
[*][u]5:[/u] You’re an average person. This skill takes no positive or negatives. This is a fully functioning, but not exceptional, skill. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] You were born.
[*][u]6-7:[/u] You’ve trained this ability, and as such are above average with it. Though keep in mind, this isn’t something you were born with. Just something you’ve worked on.  [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] Your decided to start lifting heavy objects in succession every day, and as such as received a bonus to Strength.
[*][u]8-9:[/u] You have a natural skill that is combined with years of hard work to hone it. Rarely anyone is better at you at this skill. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] You naturally picked up on things when you were young, and they were exposed to libraries of texts and information. As such, your Intelligence is great.
[*][u]10:[/u] A stat should only be this high if there's an outstanding reason for it to be. It should be based on your species, or some extraordinary event in your past. This is the only number I'm going to need entirely rationalized. [i]EXAMPLE:[/i] You're a supermutant, and as such your strength is ridiculous. You're a robot so your intelligence is through the roof.[/list]
Please keep in mind, that these stats can fluctuate throughout the RP, barring one. Luck will always stay in the same place you put it in the beginning. I’m NOT saying “make it high or else” just that you can’t improve your luck. If you could, I’d work that out every day.

I’ve condensed the traits and skills from Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas. Fallout 3 and 4 doesn’t use this system. That being said, I like it because it adds spice to the roleplaying element. Yes, you might note that I’ve removed a few of them or altered how they work. This is mostly to transition them from a videogame setting and into a RP one. Please note you get ONE TRAIT. You also get ONE COMBAT SKILL and ONE ACTION OR PASSIVE SKILL. That being said, if you don’t wish to take a combat skill, you can take TWO ACTION, TWO PASSIVE, OR ONE ACTION AND ONE PASSIVE SKILL. Not everyone in this game has to wield a weapon. Please note that having a Combat skill in say “Small Guns” doesn’t limit you from owning a melee weapon. Think of this as the thing you’re proficient in, not the sole thing your capable of using.

⚜️ Do not give yourself a [b]PERK[/b]. Instead write a variation of N/A, None, etc. I’ll give you a perk if/when I accept your CS. If there is a perk on this CS, I will ignore it.

⚜️ Your [B]STRENGTHS[/b] and [b]WEAKNESSES[/b] are just that. A thing that might help you in writing them is look at your SPECIAL, what is your character good at and what are they bad at. Please keep in mind I will not take game-breaking strengths and sad [i]sad[/i] weaknesses.

⚜️ Your [b]EQUIPMENT[/b] I leave mostly to you. Just a few things:
[list][*]Only Two Weapons (I may accept three if they’re all small weapons like a pistol, a switchblade, and A grenade.) No modded weapons unless you have an intelligence of 6 or above, but keep them out of the range of OP.
[*]Armor doesn’t have to be pulled from the wiki, just customize it to fit your character. No power armor or armor that seems nigh indestructible.

⚜️Your [b]WRITING PROMPT[/b] is a few paragraphs (just a few, please don’t make me read greater than a thousand words) of your character’s experience in Shreve’s Port right before they were employed by the governor. I leave the various establishments of Shreve’s Port to you. And no, you don’t have to know anything about Shreveport to write this. Just know a river runs through it.

⚜️ Here’s where the fun begins. Your [B]BIOGRAPHY[/b] and [b]SECRET[/b] need to be removed from the CS and placed into a PM and sent directly to me. The title of this PM should be “Fallout: Character Name”. And in it should be a link to the CS in the OOC and then your biography and secret. Why am I doing this? So, we can have fun and drama. I hate it when people know everything my character’s done. We’re all strangers. Suspicions should run high. What is your secret? It’s something you want to happen in game that has to do with your character. If you don’t have a concrete idea now, I understand. You can write “character growth of some kind” and then later specify. If you have an idea now, lay it on me. “Character’s once thought dead brother is not dead.” Just know that I GM this segment and so there’s no need to be overly specific. You don’t have to submit your CS to the OOC and your backstory via PM at the same time. You can do one then the other. But I’ll go through accepting characters FROM my PM box. So, failing to do this means I won’t see your character.
