Since birth Steven's skin has been a dark red, slightly more leathery than regular skin. He's able to absorb the heat out of things he touches, causing them to freeze when he touches them. Simultaneously his own body heat increases, until he's as hot as a furnace. Steven can control his power, but his body is still always a bit hotter than normal.

At a young age Steven was bullied for his strange appearance. People quickly discovered that despite his strange powers he wasn't a violent person, so they could push him around. This has led to Steven becoming a bit of a cowardly person, ashamed of what he is.
