“Impressive Adam.” He scanned the surroundings and noted Adam’s taste ran to the old fashioned. He approved. Then again he and Adam had been friends for at least a millenia. The man had to have good taste. Oliver smoothly walked around the desk and sat down in the quasi-Victorian chair behind it facing Adam who had walked in and hovered at the doorway. Oliver propped his elbows on the top of the desk and laced his long thin fingers together. Resting his head on his chin he tilted his head bird like, in a predatory way, and smiled at Adam. “Did you contact the Warlock? You know we’ll need a bigger place than this to set the meeting at. I’ve invited all the Mythos that are currently leading their species or the last thereof.” Adam raised an eyebrow and smirked at Oliver hiding his irritation that Oliver had taken over his space. But that was Oliver was one of the few remaining dragons and one did not let a dragon know something they did bothered you. They might eat you, burn you to a crisp or just do it every chance they got just to get a rise out of you. The old adage of ‘Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with ketchup.’ was mostly true. The other ‘Where does a real live dragon sit? Anywhere he freaking wants to.’ was very apropo in this case especially. “Of course I contacted the Warlock. It took some string pulling but it was achieved. And I agree this office is far too small for the plethora of Mythos that will be attending. I have requested that he make an adjunct to the Noir VIP Room that will only be detectable by Mythos or via magic. And before you say anything yes a Fated One will be able to see it as well. We’ll be having the first meeting in the Noir Room and after that in the adjunct.” Adam looked at his watch. “He’s due to arrive at 11:45pm, which is in a few hours. I’ve had the room closed off and on ‘Reserved’ status so that we can meet and he can do his casting. I have the Mythos on staff covering the room.” Oliver thought for a moment. “Don’t you have some humans on staff? Pretty ones? The blonde and redhead?” Adam nodded. “Yes. Beatrix and Ophelia, respectively. Beatrix is a bartender and Ophelia is a waitress. I employed them because they could have been models but had more sense than that and because...well sex sells...or the appearance of it does. As far as I can tell they both have a very high standard and I’ve never seen them with men. I believe they are finishing college soon and may just move on to better things. Trust me if I could keep them on I would. My business has quadrupled since they arrived.” Oliver grinned. “You forgot to mention that they smell divine.” Adam cleared his throat. “Yes well that is neither here nor there.” Oliver pinned Adam with a very serious look. “Have them work the room. I like them, old fashioned names and all. Besides,” Oliver stood and came around the desk to sit on it stretching his long legs out and smiled wickedly. “You said it yourself. Sex sells.” Adam groaned inwardly and closed his eyes and tilted his head back and sighed. I am so not insured for this kind of damage… Looking back at Oliver he nodded and threw over his shoulder. “Follow me to the Noir Room and I’ll inform the staff.” Oliver stood up and crossed to the threshold and his six foot seven inch frame practically dwarfed Adam’s six foot even height. “I know the way. Nice thing about being silent partner, you know where things are.” Adam glared at Oliver as he stepped out into the hallway that lead to the club’s main room. “Don’t make me regret it, Ollie.” Adam stalked off and heard a chuckle and something about being riled enough for pet names. Adam stopped by a station computer and plugged in the room swap for Beatrix and Ophelia, then went to inform the staff on site. When the girls clocked in for their shift they’d be informed as to where they were working tonight.
