I need a tragic backstory for my character.

I know.  One day he decided to play a children's card game against a kid with weird hair that wore a priceless Egyptian artifact as a price of jewellery.  When I lost, the kid used the telepathic powers the artifact gave him to give me massive brain damage and steal my rare trading cards.  Now I owe millions to the hospital for my rehab.

Something tells me that might get me sued, though.
