In his focus on the TV, Orren lost track of the customers lining up in front of him. When he finally turned back, he jumped slightly. "Oh. Uh, sorry. Can I help you?" The guy in front of him was new. Orren had never seen him in the shop before, he was pretty sure. 

The girl behind the guy wasn't exactly a regular, but she came in from time to time. Orren did his best to push off the unsettled feeling in his stomach and the pretend that the purple bags under his eyes didn't exist as he gave his best customer service smile.
