Yet as empathetic and compassionate as he is, Myrus also has a bit of restlessness to him. He's never felt at ease with his life, as if it was meant for someone else and not for him. But that search for purpose and contentment also gives him dreams and hope. Myrus is naively certain that the morning will always bring a new chance - that each second brings everyone a little closer to happiness. The pursuit of happiness will always be a worthwhile endeavor and any challenges can be overcome through trust and bravery. As long as one stays true, he believes anything can be accomplished - it just might take a little bit longer than one would like.

[b][color=ff0000]Your Path:[/color][/b] Myrus' path was selected for him at a young age. As the only male child of Queen Meliscente and given that only female children could inherit the throne, Myrus was raised with the intention of one day being married to a Crown Princess. Through his marriage, he could strengthen the political alliances of the Castle and some other nation. And while Myrus has never verbally protested this path, he doesn't want it. He doesn't want to marry someone for political necessity and spend his life focused on politics. He dreams of stealing a vessel and sailing away from the Castle, starting a new life on the sea and seeing the world. The Castle has so many treasures on the Long Walk from distant lands - he wants to see where they all came from. 

[b][color=ff0000]General History:[/color][/b] Myrus is the youngest son of the late Queen Meliscente and her husband. His mother was pregnant with him when his eldest sibling, Valda, was [b]CradleSnatched[/b] by Wendron Witches. Myrus' first clear memory is of the Palace Guards patrolling the grounds, with their numbers and ranks increased after Valda's disappearance. He didn't understand it at the time but his mother was petrified that something similar would happen to Luna and Myrus. The Port Witch Coven would be out for blood and the Wendron Witches may very well wish to try their luck again. 

He was six years old when his father died. No one would tell him what had happened to him and after a while, Myrus stopped asking. There was no point in being met with the same non-explanation of [i]"I'll tell you once the time is right, Myrus."[/i] Rather than assume that something horrible had happened to his father, Myrus imagined an illness for him. People died from illness all the time. And it was something that a six year old could understand. Even now, Myrus still doesn't know what truly happened to his father. His mother died before she ever told him. 

Myrus had two good friends growing up - Mavis Moll and his sister, Princess Luna. He would go to Mavis' house and hear stories from her father about his travels, before he gave up his life as a Northern Trader and became a dockhand at the Castle. Those stories sparked his imagination and made him crave to see whatever was beyond the Castle walls, as he had never ventured beyond them at that point in his life. 

Once he was the proper age for tutoring, Myrus was plunged into studies of etiquette and diplomacy, while Mavis was apprenticed to a Castle Alchemist. In his spare moments, he'd study maps and learn more about how to operate the vessels down at the Palace's dock. He mostly saw his sister at that point, though he'd sneak out at nights to see his old friend whenever he could. The friendship grew into something more and the two had a brief romance, with Mavis ending things around when Valda was rescued from the Wendron Witches. Myrus tried his best to help his sister acclimate to Castle life, under the impression that it would be a long time until Valda would have to become Queen. 

And then after a trip to the Land of Long Nights with his mother, she fell ill and she died, making Luna, Valda, and Myrus orphans. 

[b][color=ff0000]Thoughts on Queen Meliscente:[/color][/b] His mother's passing has brought up a lot of unanswered questions for Myrus - namely, the death of his father. It breaks his heart to have lost both of his parents before he became of age and he wants to believe that it was an illness. Myrus doesn't want to suspect anyone - whether it's his sister, Valda, a Witch Coven, or the Northern Traders. He also has to respect all of the effort and time Arya has dedicated as their Castle's ExtraOrdinary Wizard. The position is hard and demanding - not everyone is up to the task.

While most siblings fought and bicker, Myrus' relationship with his sister Luna wasn't half bad. They would play games around the Palace, putting on thick socks and then running down the halls fast enough to make them slide and skid. They'd look at the treasures along the Long Walk and dream up exciting stories that could be found. And as they grew older, becoming teenagers, they stopped some of their more childish games but they remained friends. Even though it isn't her birth right - not anymore - Myrus knows that his sister would love to be Queen and that she would be a good one. He can only hope that Luna can find a new adventure to focus on now that Valda has returned.

Myrus is incredibly hard on himself and he has always been that way. It keeps him from chasing his dreams and leaving the Castle to see the world, instead resigning himself to a life he doesn't want. His family needs him and he cannot abandon them. In his weakest moments, he sometimes feels that everything around him turns to dust - his father and mother died, his sister was kidnapped...Boy needs some therapy.

Although Myrus hasn't known Lyra very long, he is curious about her. She has a skill set that not many in the Castle possess, with wizards taking the place of swordsmen for the most part. And yet, Lyra has chosen to serve as a Lady-in-Waiting when she could be so much more. It doesn't make sense to him but he isn't going to press her about it, instead respecting her choices even if he doesn't understand the reasons.

Myrus has been leaning on Valda a lot over the past few months. With all of the trauma he went through on the day of Valda's coronation, he sometimes simply cannot sleep, the nightmares too intense. Instead, he'll go and sleep in Valda's room on the chair or on the floor, simply feeling safer with his sister there. Since Tristan has arrived and began courting Luna, this behavior has become the norm.

Ever since they were both mentally attacked and harmed by Port Witches, Myrus and his older sister have gotten considerably closer. He needs his sister, but if she's happy with Tristan...He'll accept it.

At such a young age and with both of his parents gone, he really does need guidance and direction...something he has started to look at Skaoi for.

The next problem to tackle would be Fleur - and after that, Luna's illness. He's going to find a way to cure his sister, no matter what.

Ahote has been mentoring Myrus, teaching him to control his powers and to process his emotions better. Since the two of them met, Ahote has become someone that Myrus feels he can confide in and knows that Ahote won't share his secrets unless he feels that he absolutely has to.
