Yeah, he ought to fit in. Obviously, there's none of the Metal Gear-esque tech or anything in this one, and it'll be a lot more realistic military tech etc. aside from a few small bits and pieces, but I'm sure he'll be fine otherwise. 
Hopefully it will get a bit more interested and go somewhere.
