Name: Omar El-Shabbaz Age: 27 Gender: Male Role: Anselmo Guardian Skills: - CQC: Omar is skilled at both fighting with melee weapons and brawling with his fists. - Heavy Weapons: Very well-adjusted and experienced in handling heavy weapons, easily managing the recoil and quick with reloading. All in all, he's your best bet when you want the big guns rolling. - Endurance: Having a larger, muscular, frame he loses a lot of agility but makes up for it with his sheer endurance and will to go on. Equipment: A big man with an even bigger suit of armor, Omar not only dons the thick suit but carries a shield made of a dense, thick metal which can expand to his body size to give him maximum protection. His weapons include a large machete he carries on him, with a heavy machine gun he can mount on the shield, and a 'small' rocket launcher to hit heavy targets. Besides the few grenades and detonation charges he carries, Omar's armor gives him whatever else he needs, such as a comms system and a HUD. Appearance: Standing at 6'3", Omar has an olive skin that tones a large, bulky, muscular frame. He has a scar across his chest (the reasons of which will be explained later), and some small scars on his hands. His hair is an unstyled dark brown, almost black, and has brown eyes full of life. Without armor, he usually wears jeans and a navy green shirt. Background: The Wall. The wall protects all, built from the blood, sweat, and tears of those who constructed it. That is where the story of Omar begins. His family arrived as refugees in the city in the past, with his ancestors being some of the few who began to build the grand wall. Since then, all of his grandfathers have been Guardians. All of them. His great grandfather stood proudly, his grandfather and father the same, and now it was his duty to take his place defending those who could not protect themselves. He was raised by his middle-class family in an Arabic district of Anselmo, staying deeply connected to his culture and roots. Coming from a large family where he was the middle brother between 1 older brother, 2 older sisters, 3 younger brothers, and 2 younger sisters, he was used to roughhousing and having to stay tough to get what he wanted. His mother and father were very traditional, where his mom stayed at home along with his grandparents who lived with him, while his dad was the bread winner of the family. Speaking of his father, Omar’s life was heavily influenced by him, seeing a man with such raw strength and power, be one of the most gentle and caring people he knew. This, Omar thought, was who he wanted to be. He knew from a young age that he was willing to put anything and everything on the line to protect those around him. And so, as his family has for generations, he did. He began to train before formally entering any sort of military academy, when his older brother decided not to pursue the family tradition as a Guard. Omar took on the mantle, strenuously practicing daily alone and with his father when he could. Once he was old enough, he immediately enrolled into service to train, to fight for the honor he felt he deserved, the honor of standing proudly on that wall. After years of training to be one of the best, Omar has achieved his dream, ready to defend all he has ever known and loved. Other: Omar is a deeply spiritual man, though he isn’t exactly religious. He is also very fond of smoking whenever he has the time and ability to. Wish: Omar’s deepest wish is that one day, they won’t need Guards or walls, because there would be no more fear; only the drive to push forward without needing to worry about any monsters, physical or not. Trauma: The worst and most traumatizing moment of Omar’s life was on patrol beyond the walls one day. A category 4 Reaver, a rare sight being so near to the city, fell upon them. After a tense battle, Omar was left injured and the squadmate he was out on patrol with was unspeakably brutalized and nearing death. Given there was no hope for him, Omar had to make the most difficult decision of his life: killing a friend to end his suffering. To his day, his face is engraved into his mind.
