This RP has been rebooted from an old, small group RP. With much more experience under the belt, I feel confident in restructuring this RP for a larger user base. Our story while based on that RP, does not follow its story line exactly. Without further adieu... The year is 2036 here on planet Earth. Six years ago, on New Year's no less, Pokemon and people from the Pokemon world appeared after Earth shaking storms covered every corner of the planet. These storms appeared out of nowhere, one hour before midnight in Japan, and dissipated two hours later, as mysteriously as they had began. It wouldn't take long for people all across the world to notice a second mystery: new animal sightings. These creatures would quickly be identified as Pokemon from Generation 1 of Pokemon. It would take longer to realize new people had appeared as well; some we recognized from the anime and games; others had never been seen before. These people all had one thing in common, they spoke a language unlike anything found on Earth. Some of them were obviously trainers, with Pokemon sticking close to their side. Others seemed to be important for other reasons, such as Pokemon professors. One would think they would have trouble communicating, but as it turns out, they all seemed to come with a unique ability to learn any language in a matter of months. Six years later, the world has become accustomed to these strange storms popping up all around the globe, always syncing with New Year's Eve in Japan. At the end of each storm, we are introduced to the next generation of Pokemon and more people from the Pokemon universe. Mysteriously however, it is still unknown as to why this happens. All we can do for now is adjust to this new life, while the experts try to figure things out. This RP picks up after the storm that brought Generation 7 Pokemon...

The Pokemon Alliance
The Pokemon Alliance was formed shortly after the first storm in 2030. The alliance is made of world leaders, scientists, representatives of the Pokemon Company, as well as representatives from the Pokemon World itself, such as Professor Oak and Ash Ketchum. It is the mission of the Pokemon Alliance to protect both Pokemon and the existing habitats they have unwittingly found themselves thrown into. (Side Note: It turns out, people from the Pokemon World age nearly ten times as slow as people hear on Earth. Hence, why Ash still looks so young. Conversely, they seem to mature at the same slow rate as well. Hence, why he acts so young.) To accomplish their mission, the alliance has recreated the Pokemon Trainer program from the Pokemon World (with a few modifications). Instead of being handed a Pokedex and some Pokeballs and being unleashed upon the world, people wanting to join the program must undergo several months of training, where they travel all across the world learning what it takes to be a trainer (That is, IF they get accepted into the program in the first place.). Upon graduation, new trainers are finally free to explore their world, but there is a catch. Trainers must complete a minimum number of missions per year. These missions range from minor tasks to major adventures, and in all cases, they help maintain peace in the world. Trainers that don't wish to go on missions will have their trainer's license revoked. Meaning, they will be cut off from the many benefits active trainers receive, and there are many. Trainer benefits include free healthcare, as well as room and board at Pokemon Centers found in ever major city in the world, where they can also eat for free (to an extent; don't expect to fill up your hungry Snorlax). Benefits also include free necessities at Poke Marts, which are always located nearby Poke Centers; these items include: Pokeballs, Potions, and food rations.

Getting Started
Okay, so if you've made it this far, you must be at least a little bit interested. Here are the things you must know and do to join this RP: Posting Structure: This RP is in the casual section for a reason. While the backdrop to our story is grandiose, IC posting requirements are not. There are only three things to remember: title your posts correctly; don't write too much; tag your friends. First (and most importantly), you should always title your posts. Titles should contain: the name of your mission (if your character is on one), the time and date (This can be any time before the Universal Game Time), and finally, your character's name (since you may have more than one character). Second, don't write a novella every time you post OR post twice in a row. Third, you should tag people if you want to interact with their character, just to be safe. Remember, if you forget to tag someone when you post, editing a tag into the post after-the-fact won't actually reach them. If you forget to tag them, you'll want to reach out to them another way. The Honor System: This RP isn't competitive (usually). I won't be keeping track of what Pokemon your character has caught, what items they are carrying, or the growth of anyone's Pokemon. All I ask is that you be respectful. Use Bulbapedia to get an idea of when your Pokemon can evolve and what moves they can learn by leveling up. Speaking of leveling up, please keep level growth to one level per day MAXIMUM; even then, realistically only a hard-ass trainer would get a level increase EVERY SINGLE DAY. When you catch a Pokemon, you can start them at any level, but again, be reasonable. You shouldn't be catching strong Pokemon with Pokeballs or without battling them, and if your character is a newb, they shouldn't be catching strong Pokemon in the first place. Bottom line, use common sense, and be cool. Missions & The Map: Missions are the heart of this RP. You can check the map found in the First IC Post to find available missions, as well as special locations. This is an actual customized Google Map, and on the back end, I've already distributed every single Pokemon and Item that you may find. When you choose a mission, I will reveal the Pokemon and Items you may find along the way. Obviously, I don't expect your character to find every item or catch every Pokemon (Seriously, this goes back to the Honor System.). Finally, before you start a mission, you may want to build a party, and I don't mean your Pokemon. Completing a mission with friends can be fun. Also, every mission requires a certain number of posts to be completed; it's easier to hit this goal with a larger party. Free Roam: So what about you lone wolves? I'm not leaving you out either. If you want to know what Pokemon and Items are in an area, all you have to do is make an IC post and tag me at the bottom of your post. I will then run a search on the back end to see what Pokemon and Items are in the area. You can even trigger hidden events like this. The only down side is your list of Pokemon and Items won't be as large as people starting a mission, as your search area will be smaller. Creating a Character: To create a character, simply follow the format laid out in the First Characters Post, but before you do, here's what you need to know: Your character can be a trainer from the Pokemon World or Earth. If you chose the Pokemon World, then you can either pick someone from the anime or games, or you can bring in an original character from another Pokemon RP or one that is completely made up. If you chose Earth, you must create an original character that can either have just graduated into being a trainer, or they could have started as early as the first round of trainers six years ago. Based on what you choose, you can start your character off at one of three ranks. PM me with character sheets for approval. You may have as many characters as you like. Ranks: The three ranks are A, B, and C, with A being the highest and C the lowest. To start a mission, at least one character in the team must have a high enough rank. New trainers are automatically at rank C. To get to rank B, they must complete 10 C-Rank missions. To get to rank A, they must complete 10 B-Rank Missions. This is the one stat that I will be keeping track of (how many missions your characters have completed). Just to be safe, I ask that you tag me whenever you finish a mission.

Battles
As I mentioned earlier, battles come secondary to the story in this RP, hence why they are this far down the list. For the most part, all you have to do is write out your battles, no game mechanics involved. Optionally however, every mission has one opportunity for a Pokemon Showdown battle, or for you free roamers, you can request a Showdown battle at any time. Either way, you'll want to PM me. We can set a time that both of us can be online to battle. Pokemon Showdown battles are never required, but they can be fun, so bring it on. If there is enough demand, I might host Pokemon Showdown tournaments or introduce a Pokemon League. And finally, if two friends want to battle each other on Pokemon Showdown, go for it, but I won't be regulating.

Any Questions? :)
Ask away in the OOC thread below!
